Hey now! I have that stupid "cupid's bow" mouth too! I really love my lips. I knew a woman who drew a fake cupid's bow on with lipliner, that was weird--as was she--but in real life they are sweet and sexy. I would never trade my lips for a different shape.

Good for you, Vonstella!! There is nothing sexier or more alluring than a woman who likes herself - and who appreciates her beauty..I think that we are generally drawn to people like that...it is liberating in a way..I think it sort of gives others permission to say,'Hey, I think I'm pretty hot!!" ohh well...
well, here is a pic of my enoying ones, i use to wear extremly light lip stick like how i am wearing it on the pic so they could look smaller but no, i wear nothing now Image

The dark lipliner creates the illusion of a recess...the light colour draws your lips out....as a matter of fact there is nothing you could do to make your lips look bigger- unless you add lipgloss, perhaps...If you want them to look smaller then you are way of track..I must say, though - that you have a smacker that I'd die for!! (Well, not DIE FOR - but you get my drift)! This pic reminds me of Angelina Jolie (minus your lip colour!) You are a knockout!

Sorry 'bout that, mea culpa and all that. It's just that I'm barely 5' tall, small boned, with very short, fine wispy hair and way tooo OLD to look like I just stepped off a lily pad. Laughing Laughing Laughing

Truth is, I love a cupid's bow set of lips on just about anyone else but me.

haha, yeah..everyone keeps on telling me about the anjelina jolie thing...i guess i should be rpoud of my lips after all instead of being imbaressed..
well, i use to use that lip liner cuz the women that was working at the make-up department told me that, that color would be perfect for my skin tone and that it would tisapear with my skin color since it was dark at the time...but i dont use that anymore...and about the plae lip stick, i used that cuz its really light so it would disapear more..but makes it look worse, you right...
what lip liner color should i use?or do i even need it?and which color of lip sticks should i stick?

Well, lipglossbaby, you are very pretty. I don't get the issue with your lips, esp. when full lips are the rage now! Everyone else gave you good advice, so I have little to add except to second whoever said go easy on the liner. It doesn't de-emphasize; it has the exact opposite effect.

Manslayerz- you have nice lips too!

Gee - I'm probably going to be of no use to you because I think you would be magnificent looking with a lot less on your face...Your features are strong and balanced...your eyes draw as much attention as your mouth...I think you need hardly anything...If I were you, I'd line my lips with MAC Spice lipliner (VERY natural!) and then try to find a lipstick as close to your natural lip colour as possible. I'd invest in a really good mascara and go easy on the shadow...Don't use colour too much to play up your features...your features are very strong (you are lucky!) Theflip side of that coin is that have to be more careful with colour and illusion-type make-up techniques... because you have strong features it will be easy for you to look "overdone"...less is definitely more for you (IMHO) - which is a good thing! You have a naturally exotic look!
Have fun!

Ok, I'm guessing the "sucks" part is no pun intended...

But you won't get any sympathy from me. I would KILL to have those lips. And I agree about the natural lip color idea. You would look beautiful with nothing on and I think people are even more wowed by anyone who can pull that off and dares to.

And Arielle, I'm also short, 5'1, super tiny and I sometimes feel like I can't pull just anything off because of my height.

lipglossdoll--i don't think your lips are too big or anything. but if you feel like they are too large than light colors and lip glosses are not the right way to go. darker colors will make your lips look smaller.

really, darker colors?waw, i thought that would make it worse...and my lips arent big? come on look at this pic, its too much and i dont enjoy it that much!i know i might be wired about this, but ohh well..haha..also you know we were talking about dry lips too, well i discoverd something today...if you putt lip balm to bed, you wake up with so soft lips in the moring, and then if you putt more lip balm on just when you wake up it gets even better and lasts all they long!you know what i mean?its great!

Perhaps this would be a better choice of color. The lip color you are wearing is not for you. Besides not for full lips, it does not go with your complextion.

Y'know I just have to say, you're young and gorgeous and you're complaining about ... what, exactly? Do you know that fuller lips has got to be in the top 10 wishes women have these days? How ironic that you see this as a flaw of some kind. You look totally, naturally beautiful to me, clearly you're not heavily made up to achieve that. I do hope you can see this when you look in the mirror.

I'm sorry if you feel like men are looking at you as a sexual object, but, hey that's what they do. They look at young, beautiful women, so take it as a compliment.

i think dark colors do make lips look smaller. scarlett johansson (who i think is so gorgeous) has rather big lips. i notice when she wears nude colors, her top lip looks too large for her face, but with darker/brighter colors, her lips look just right and gorgeous.

What ever you do don't go to a drugstore and just buy lipsticks by sight. So many times I have done that and ended up hating them on me. Go to a cosmetic counter and try on colors. Some salons carry makeup. My local salon carries Jane Iredale. They have an excellent facialist that does makeup. She is so good she is always booked doing brides and wedding parties. If you could find someone like that it would be great.

In the pictures I posted I think the first one has lipstick and gloss (thought that color would be pretty on you). The second one I believe is just bare lips. After I posted the second one I thought about it....I think the pigment in your lips might be darker. That model seems very fair.

I don't know what color it is....sorry. I Googled pictures of lips. You could always save picture on your hard drive and print.

Just looked at it again. If the model has nice color to her lips it might be just gloss.

I think were all being a bit suckered here!!!! First no one highlights what they hate, just doesn't happen, and it doesn't take a rocket scientist to tell white (or white pink) sparkle lipstick outlined in dark, is gonna highlight ur LIPS!!

Do you know what - I was just thinking the same. A very strange chose of colour for someone who hates their lips, and strange choice of forum name as well in this case... I'm thinking more this is someone who loves their lips and loves getting compliments... but I could be wrong.
