I wonder which would be better - to apply the DMAE or Retin A first? What do you prefer? |

Hi, Monica, it's me, again. I've always been a firm believer that treatments go first, then DMAE or moisturizers, whatever.
But, I've never used the DMAE with my Retin-A. When I use the Retin-A, that's the only thing I wear at night ('cept jammies in the winter LOL).

Im worried that anything applied under Retin A may reduce its absorption and I REALLY want to get the most from it
How about if I wait 30 min wait after Retin A and then apply the DMAE and immediately over it my Cerave/emu blend?
They put DMAE in creams too and there is no wait time required.
Thanks |

Hi there! I'd put the Retin A on first...I am using the PSF DMAE gel and can't imagine putting it over Retin A (Im using Tazorac at night)...I think my face would burn off! I put emu oil over my tazorac in the evening (bout 1/2 an hour after the tazorac application)...I use my DMAE products during the day and do not use the tazorac during the day..

I've had two derms tell me to use serum-type products (e.g. DMAE) FIRST, before anything of a thicker consistency. The absorb the fastest and easiest and won't "block" other products. If you put the DMAE on over your retin a, it might not penetrate the cream or gel base.
The DMAE serum is so liquidy, if you put it on first and wait 30 minutes, it won't disrupt the retin a's absorption. |

I have been putting Remergent DNA Repair (which is a serum/gel type) over PSF's Retinol Night Repair which is in jojoba oil base. I was wondering if a serum type can penetrate the retinol in oil base. But, Remergent recommended to use the serum after all the actives. Its working for me. |

With retinol, you have it apply first-no choice-& wait about 30 minutes before anything else. |

I was told the same thing by MAC - retinol first, wait 30 mins then other serums. |

I found this on the IFeelPretty.com site

Directions for use:
The DMAE/antioxidant serum can be applied directly to cleansed skin, after the 30 minute waiting period following BHA application, before or after copper peptides, or spritzed over makeup (although that may not allow maximum benefits). |
