I am attending college right now studying medical biller ( FYI: Im taking anatomy and medical terminolgy right now) and I would like to know how to be a successful medical biller. I do realize that this field is competative and you must KNOW spanish for an office to even look at your resume. But besides having atleast 2 years experience and/or becoming an intern, how can I stand out from the rest?
Any Medical Billers out There?
Thanks |

Just curious, why do you say you have to know spanish for an office to even consider you? |

just meaning that in order to get hired with no or little experience its best to speak spanish and english. Matter of fact, I want to move to miami when once i graduate and I ran into a black female who is cuban and she just moved from miami and she told that miami is another latin world but in the states. She also said that it would be best to stand out from others by learning spanish. Thats what i meant. |

I understand Tasha. I am a medical transcription. My only advice to you would be to make sure you are certified (or am I thinking coding, where you go through the school, but then you take the national test to certify you?). Most offices will hire you with little or no experience, especially with your school, you just have to be willing to work for cheap for a while! HTH and good luck. |
