I feel I need some help from you ladies on my next sunscreen selection. Please share your best sunscreen with us here.

I have heard that one should use at least SPF 30.
If i use a SPF15 moisturizer, and then top it with
an SPF15 makeup base, does that count as SPF30 then?

Do you think SPF15 is good enough? I've heard that SPF30+ is better. I'm still new to everything... turning 27-yrs old, certainly getting more serious about the skin regime here... Laughing

It would still only be an SPF15. I have started using Remergent SPF30 and really like it so far. It doesn't make my skin shiny (like some sunscreens can) and it seemed to get very favourable reviews here. HTH!

It depends.. If you go out in the sun a lot, then the extra protection is always better. I don't go out in the sun much.. So SPF 15 is good enough for me. Smile

Aubrey's Organics lotions aren't greasy. I've been using their sunscreen for over 5 years. I use the SPF 15 one. It's very moiturizing for sensitive skin.

This is the one I use:

You can also use it as a daily moisturizer! My mom loves it, and uses it daily herself. Smile

Best sunscreen for face that I have ever found is DR. Denese Day cream spf 30. It is tinted with melanin, zinc-oxide based, and dries to a beautiful matte finish. Really perfect alone, and also great under foundation. This is the ONLY product that has finally convinced me to use spf 30 every day, every season, every weather. It is available at QVC.com, and is $49 for a 2 oz.jar.

I like LaRoche Posay Aqua-Lait because it has an SPF of 50+ and a PPD of 28 (the UVA ageing rays) which is absolutely great. It has the highest UVA protection I've seen. No breakouts so far.

I use the Biotherm facial sunscreen 30 from Canada which has Mexoryl. For many years, you could not buy sunscreen with Mexoryl in the U.S. because the FDA didn't get around to approving it. People were going to Canada and Europe and smuggling cases in to sell. I think I heard that the FDA just approved the use of Mexoryl.

From an ABC 20/20 segment:

"Ultraviolet A light ages your skin. And the reason it does that, it's a longer wavelength, so it can penetrate deeper into the skin, and instead of attacking the upper layers of the skin where skin cancer often forms, it attacks the layers that give your skin its tone, its elasticity, as we call it. … You get the lines, the wrinkles, all the things associated from aging," said Dr. Darrell Rigel, clinical professor of dermatology at New York University.

Mexoryl "is the No. 1 individual ingredient in terms of protection from Ultraviolet A radiation," Rigel said.

"It produces a product which gives us almost perfect protection against sunshine," said Dr. Vincent DeLeo, chairman of dermatology at Columbia University.

I love Clinique Superdefense SPF25. It's rich and creamy and doesn't leave a white cast on your face as many sunscreens do. I've never been one to use a moisturiser with added SPF as they always gave me spots, but this is wonderful.

Sunkiller Clear Water is by far the best I've used in terms of finish, my skin actually looks better with this suncreen on than without.

Because I spend a huge amount of time in my garden in summer, have tried many, many sunscreens.

I like the Neutrogena UltraSheer dry touch SPF 30 and 45, and RoC's Minesol Protect dry touch SPF 40. There is no shine with these & easily absorbed even when slathering it on. But use them only when I have no makeup on as they seem to reactive negatively to anything else on the face, even just moisturizers! They always flake & generally crumble off.

The only one I've found that I can wear w/ everything else is SkinCeuticals. Currently I use their Sport UV Defense SPF 45. First rec'd it as a sample and loved it. Goes on a little shiny but the shine soon disappears. Advertised for high active sports types like joggers. I'm just a high active gardener which involves considerable sweating too.

Perfect for me.

I just ordered Shiseido's Anessa Mild SPF 43 which doesn't have chemicals, just TD & ZO.

Will see how this one works for me - if it's too white I'm gonna be miserable....

I need one for Hawaii that won't make my face break out and is waterproof (I'll reapply, but I don't want to get burned while I'm in the water)
any suggestions?
