This is by far the BEST multipurpose brown eyeshadow I have ever bought/owned.
(BTW those of you who frequent MUA might know this already so forgive the repeat, but I just had to write a review here, I'm that in love with this product!)
To give y'all some background I was looking for a dark brown eyeshadow which can be used dry or wet to replace the BB Espresso which I'd been using to fill in my brows and line my eyes (when I don't use the gel eye liner/Fluidline). So off I went to MAC and asked for a brown e/s for the brows. I tried it on and I just had to buy it! Here's why:
1. As a brow filler the colour stays matte and is so natural it's very difficult for anyone to tell if I've got anything on (well of course this also depends on how skillful you are at applying the product, but if klutzy me can do it, anyone can - btw I use my BB eye definer brush for this).
2. The colour is true brown - there is no hint of red at all, and when you pile it on (like on the brows) it comes out intense with no grey cast whatsoever (which BB's Espresso can have a habit of doing)
3. Its staying power is superb, so I can use it to line my eyes or colour my eyelids and it will stay put for hours.
4. It's highly pigmented so you don't have to waste the product - especially if you use it frequently, like me. And because it's highly pigmented you can dust a thin layer and get that no-makeup makeup look, or pile it on for an awesome smokey-eye look, paired with a black gel liner like BB Black Ink or Fluidline in Blacktrack.
And best of all,
5. It's hard, so you don't get powder flying everywhere as you put it on (which is a pain for dark e/s because it'll show on the rest of your face, especially under your eyes)
Well hope that helps anyone who's looking for a multipurpose brown e/s. It's my HG from now on. |

I love this eyeshadow too - it is one of my staple day wear looks (as a liner).
I use it bit less since I got into the fluidlines - I use Dipdown which is a gorgeous chocolaty brown. |

I've been lemming Dipdown and will get it this week, I swear .
But I still can't rave enough about this eyeshadow, it just works so well for me - as eyeliner (though a gel would obviously last mush longer), eye colour and especially eyebrow filler. Loveitloveitloveit! |

Emma, I bought Dipdown yesterday! Posted my review in ParisTroika's Fluidline thread.
You're right, I'm not regretting it one single bit.
Anyhoos - this Espresso e/s is just awesome worn with Dipdown, too. |

I love Espresso too! I don't use it on my brows because I'm too anal about powder flying out when I apply it...so I use a brown pencil for my brows. But I love it on the outer corners of my crease for a more natural smokey look. It's a great alternative to grey, and I still look professional for work! I completely agree with you about it being a true brown...I can't wear browns with reds in them because I look sick. MAC scores with this one. |

That's the last thing I'd expect from MAC Espresso (powder flying around). That's why I really like it (besides all its other merits I mentioned above). BB Expresso (or any of their other dark colour e/s, for that matter) does that to me all the time. |
