Did a search for this product but didn't come up with anything - at least not that was obvious by 71 pages of thread titles. Nothing came up in Google either. If there has already been a review I apologize.
Would appreciate any feedback on the ingredients listed in this sunblock or any reviews. Personally I could do without all the oils and waxes - it's not like I'm going swimming everyday, just need something for my face. This comes close to what I'm looking for but still has many extra ingredients. I think what I want personally would not appeal to a large market - something that only addresses sunscreen for the face and leaves the rest of my skincare up to me. Apparently they only use coated zinc, but don't specify here:
UV Natural Ingredients List Defined
Micronized zinc: Assists in the growth and repair of skin tissue. Acts as a broad spectrum UV deflector. Zinc Oxide 23.1%
Sesame Oil (Sesamum indicum oil): A valuable moisturizer and skin conditioner rich in Vitamins A and E. High in antioxidants and assists in protection against sun damage. It is also a natural deflector of UV as it has a natural SPF.
Grape Seed Extract (Vitis vinifera(seed extract): Promotes cell repair, growth and is one of the most powerful antioxidants known. Icreases Vitamin D production and assists in protection against free radical damage and conditions resulting from such damage.
Green Tea (Camellia sinensis extract/ (liposoluble)):Ranks up there with Grape Seed Extract as being one of the most powerful antioxidants available. An anti-inflammatory and a natural disinfectant - research in 1997 suggests that concentrations of the extract topically applied provided significant anti melanoma protection.
Grape Seed Oil (Vitis Vinifera/refined grapeseed oil): Significantly more antioxidant activity than Vitamin C, E and Beta Carotene. Contains the highest amount of Linoleic Acid of all oils.
Macadamia Oil (Macadamia ternifolia (seed) oil): Closest in comparison to the oil we lose from our skin as we age. Nourishes the skin and locks in moisture - replenishing fatty acids. Prevents and reduces signs of aging. Works in conjunction with the antioxidants to retain the integrity of the collagen and elastin in preventing wrinkles and aging.
Safflower Oil (Carthamus tictorius oil): High content of omega oils, nourishing to the skin and has a natural SPF. This oil is very rich and assists in nourishing and moisturizing the skin where sun damage may have already occurred.
Vitamin E (Tocopheryl acetate/copherol 1250): Protects body tissues from breakdown and signs of photo aging. Excellent moisturizer and has scar healing qualities.
Iron Oxides: Primarily used to color the sunscreen without causing it to tint the skin.
Bees Wax (Cera Alba(wax)): Used to assist in the water resistance of the sunscreen.
Candelilla Wax (Candelia cera(wax)): Used to assist in the water resistance of the sunscreen
Carnauba Wax (Copernica prunifera): Used to assist in the water resistance of the sunscreen.
Vegetable Oil: We use a vegetable oil mix as an emulsifier and the main ingredient is safflower oil.
Hydrogenated Oil: In addition to the vegetable oil, we use a vegetable oil mix as an emulsifier and it makes up less than 2% of the overall formula. Within that mix there is less than 1% hydrogenated oil. The actual amount contained in the overall formula is minute, but according to FDA requirements it must be listed regardless of the amount used. That said, we have re-formulated our sunscreen - the hydrogenated oil will be removed from the product and the labels in the very near future. We are constantly striving to make our revolutionary formula even better.
Caprylic/Capric Triglycerides: Derived from a coconut oil source and used an emulsifier.

oriana808, have you tried Zenbiotic's Sun Protect (www.zenbiotic.com). I LOVE this stuff--- it's all natural, smells wonderful, and sinks right into my skin with no residue. Here are the ingredients:
Organic fresh inner leaf and gel of Aloe Vera, Vitamin E, zinc oxide, calcium, magnesium, antioxidants, wheat amino acids, vitamins C, A, B, other minerals and vitamins.
When it first comes out of the bottle it seems a little white, but the whiteness disappears into my skin. No waxes either! |

Wildcat,
I'm not sure what kind of protection it will give you considering it has so many oils in it. It might just slide off. |

You are right, they do only use zinc oxide, no titanium dioxide or chemical absorbers. The oils don't make it slide off your face.
Pros - no white cast, does prevent burning
Cons - far too greasy, gives me blackheads in three days. I have normal skin with an oily t-zone.
It does work well for people with dry skin who dont perspire much. My mother uses this and finds it is perfect for her. However if you perspire, the waxes make it difficult for the perspiration to evaporate and you can end up with very small sweat pimples. Unfortunately the zen biotic isn't available in Australia, pity it sounds gorgeous. |

Sweat pimples????
Louise, if you are interested in the ZB sun protect you might try emailing them and asking about shipping prices--- I hear they are quite reasonable for international purchases. |

i was told organic pharmacy uses all natural products AND the sunscreen can last up to 8 hours (provided it doesn't get wipe off).
however, it is completely out of my budget so if anyone has tried it, please do review. |

Thanks for the tip! I will contact company to find out whether the zinc is coated and what percentage it is.
Thanks for other feedback re UV Natural - yes as I suspected the waxes and oils are probably not the best thing for daily facial wear. Back to searching... |
