Is your HA unmixed with other additives, i.e. JUST HA and water? No preservatives or other additives?

yes, just HA and water. I buy HA powder from skinactive and I have a lot of breakout.

I also use B5 gel of skinceuticals, after a few hours my face is really achy.

When I use B5Gel from skinceutical, I also felt tingling on my face. Maybe it's coming from B5.

Ohya, do you have dry or oily skin? B5 is for moisturizing. I think HA is for the oily skin. Maybe I was wrong to think this way?

HA is fine for all skin types.

Try dropping one of your products, either the B5 or HA, and see what happeans.

It would be impossible to be allergic to HA. Hyaluronic Acid is naturally present in our bodies and is a chief component of our extracellular matrix. It's all through our connective and neural tissues (among others). It's used by our bodies for cell proliferation and by our joints (in cartilage) as a cushion and a whole host of other things. If there was any way your autoimmune system could cause an issue with HA, you'd have serious medical issues all throughout your body.

I would seriously look to something else as the cause of breakouts or other skin issues. JMHO

Ari

edit: Yes, it could also be something added to your HA product. Always buy from a trusted source.

Except its not human the HA that we apply topically; its either bio-engineered or from Cocks' combs so I suppose as with everything else in life there is the potential for someone to have a bad reaction to it.

You're correct, Molly. I did fail to take that into consideration. mea culpa Embarassed

While there is non-* spam *'s comb HA out there, it's primarily used for joint injections and we can't always be sure of what we're getting for topical application.

Ari

p.s. SAS has said "No chickens." when asked about their Glucosamine and HA.

[i]The really great HA for products is made from potatoes - it is really pricey tho - nickieygirl - I am wondering what your skin does that makes you think it is an allergy, can you describe it? Most of the time there are other culprits in the product that are causing the problem. Not all companies list all preservatives etc.

Not allergic, but didn't see any difference from using it.

The potato HA I presume is the one from the Japanese potato grown basically in one village where everyone lives to be a gazillion years old and is still out plowing the fields and racing around all spritely at age 100? (hmm, I need to move there...)
