Hi!
I have used Rosa Y Fruta's Ambrosia for years in the winter - its the only thing that protects my skin on my cheeks from chapping! Elizabeth isn't selling it at the moment although she assures me a beautiful new version of the Ambrosia is in development.
Until then does anyone have any suggestions for a replacement (similar texture/ingredients?)
I've tried DR H Rose cream, Pure shea butter (unrefined organic), The Organic Pharmacys Rose creams (sample sizes), they were all nice but not a patch on the Ambrosia.
Grateful for any suggestions!
Thanks!

Hey There, Friend!
I, like you, am a big RYF Ambrosia fan in the winter and was bummed when Elizabeth stopped carrying it. To be quite honest, when I last visited the site, all of the products that I used to love (champagne toner, Ambrosia, etc.) were all discontinued...so I haven't gone over there in quite a while.
In it's place, I have found that using Serious SkinCare's Omega 3 Restoring Beauty Fluid coupled with their Olive Oil Moisturizer has done a fantabulous job of keeping my parched winter skin happy and supple. I have ordered the Omega3 Oil at least 4 times on Ebay, and I am on my third, I believe, jar of Olive Oil Moisturizer. They are so affordable - I think you can get both on Ebay for under $25 if you find an etailer that carries the line. They are both HG's for me - can not be without them. For me to order something this many times speaks volumes!

Hi there Maria!
Thanks I'll have a browse through Ebay!
I was disappointed when she discontinued so many of her products too, but she assures me that the new Ambrosia will be worth the wait and that a new line is on developement. So I'm checking in on the website periodically to see whats happening.
Will let you know if I find anything else too! |

I'm a big fan of the Ambrosia too. I don't use it very often, but I still have a half jar that I've hidden away incase of emergency. I haven't visited the RYF site in a very long time, so I was surprised by your news. Elizabeth always had very nice products; I'm curious to see what she's come up with. |

Yonka La Baume Anti Aging product is really good. I used to like the Ambrosia as well as Elizabeth's other things but she was just never consistent with much. Although the Yonka isn't the same, it sort of is in it's own way. Look for it as the first product under moisterizers in the Yonka section of EDS. |

I also like the Yonka Le Baume. It is one of the only balms that doesn't irritate my skin and it is very moisturizing. I also used Rosa Y Fruta but could never reorder because it would be discontinued. |

Thank you Ruth and Cookie! I just looked at Le Baume; it sounds great! The fragrance has to be just heavenly -- please tell me that it is. |

Thanks - that's another possibility to add to the list.
I know what you mean Elizabeth is lovely and I loved the RYF products but it is a bit annoying when you go to reorder and find the product you love has been discontinued, I know she stopped making the Ambrosia a year or so ago as she now believes that Essential Oils shouldn't be used daily but her customers raised such an uproar she began to remake it again so I was surprised when she stopped it again. I hope the new version will be as nice (its going to be made with Damask Rose Water I think), part of what I loved was the rose scent. I also loved her custom products where you could have a basic product then choose what oils/EOs where added.
Anyway hopefully ehr new range will be gorgeous and will stick around a while this time!
In the mean time I'm off to check out the Yonka! |

Tam, my Le Baume has a very light scent and it is very hard to tell what it is. My skin is highly sensitive to fragrance and that is one of the reasons that I like it so much. |

I was hoping that with rose, jasmine and neroli essential oils that the scent would be more pronounced. But I do understand why you appreciate the lighter scent. I'll have to ask for a sample of this with my next order. |
