I bought a GPS system from the American Express Wish List program prior to X-mas as a gift for myself.
I tried it and it screwed up telling me I was on another street when I was right in front of my own house. Well, I was glad I knew where I lived, or I would have been rather lost.
So I called AmEx and told them about the problem. This was on Jan 8. They said they would send me a shipping label, so I could return the unit back to them, and they would send me a new unit.
It was supposed to take 5-7 bus days for me to get this label. To date, it has never arrived. I called them back a few times now, each time they said they would look in to why I did not get the label. Today I was so frustrated and asked what took them so long to "LOOK INTO" this matter. Just issue a new label for crying out loud. She said, "Someone will get back to you in 24-72 hours."
I told her I would never buy anything from them again, and will tell all my friends about the red tapes you'd have to go through should there be a problem with the product.
I'm keeping my promise to them. |

Update - someone from AmEx Wish List called me back, and said she'd send out the shipping label to me tomorrow, and when I get it and send the product back, I need to call them with the tracking number, so they can verify that the item was picked up and they'll send me the new unit.
Anyway, I still don't think I want to order anything from them again, and want to tell my friends on EDS this story, so you won't get the frustration and headaches I got in dealing with them.
On the other hand, my bf had some problem with his HP photo printer. After they were not able to resolve it for him, they sent him a new unit AND a shipping label to send the old one back to them without him even asking them to. He did not even know they were sending him a new unit until he already received it. That's great customer service. Big thumbs up for HP. |
