I had my annual eye appointment & noticed that they have new colored contacts called color enhancers, but they are for women with blue eyes. They do not change the color of the blue eyes, but merely "enhance" them, making them deeper or brighter. You really cannot see that someone is wearing contacts b/c there are no fake speckles & the like. It's kind of like a slight overlay of color to enhance the natural eyes.

Unfortunately, they do not have the same type of product for brown eyes. I was wondering if there were any colored contact manufacturers in Asia that have come up with similar technology for brown eyes. I like my brown eyes, & don't want to change the color, but I wouldn't mind "enhancing" them, making them slightly brighter.

All of the colored contacts currently on the market, even the ones specifically made for brown eyes look very fake on me. I have big cat shaped eyes, & look like a possessed demon w/colored contacts, even with the most natural "chestnut brown" & "brown" shades.

If anyone knows of any color enhancers for brown eyes in Asia, please let me know! TIA

Hi leiden! I know what you're talking about. I used to use them.. even if my eyes are brown. You can't tell the difference when I wear them! lol! I don't think there's such thing for brown eyes.. Have you tried Acuvue 2 colors? Brown would be good for brown eyes. They make my brown eyes a little brighter and looks natural. HTH! Smile

Hey poohlisey. I know what you mean. The optometrist didn't even want me to try these color enhancers on b/c he said they wouldn't make a difference on my brown eyes. He gave me a sample & I'm wearing the aqua-marine shade. You really can't tell the difference, unless you're in the bright sun & staring in your mirror at about 2 inches away Laughing . They do make a slight difference, but not enough to go through the trouble of wearing them. In the store, there was no difference at all in my eye color. If they just had a tiney bit more kick to them, they'd be perfect. I tried just about every other shade of brown out there, but they all look too fake. The most natural looking one was suprisingly in the color amethyst, which looked even more natural than the browns?? Still, I think that I will only wear them if I go out at night. If contact manufacturers do make these enhancers for Brown eyes, they'd have a huge market in Asian women b/c we really can't wear "colors" without them looking uber fake, whereas caucasian women can get away with wearing pretty much any color.

I know a lot of women in asia wear special contacts that make their pupils look bigger. The trend was started by some japanese pop stars and now everyone wears them. I have seen pictures of people wearing them and some look good and some just look plain scary.

I went to America's Best Contacts and they had the color enhancer's for dark eyes. They gave me a sample, it was gorgeous. I'm sure they have them in the US. It was over 6 months ago. Maybe look em up online.

Hi zumlya! Do you know what brand the color enhancers were? Where is "America's Best Contacts" located? Do your color enhancers have any "pattern" like traditional contacts, or are they kind of a bright solid color? The enhancers for blue eyes looked garishly bright aqua, but when I put them on they barely made a noticeable difference. Also, what colors do the enhancers for dark eyes come in?

I actually have a pair of the circle lenses that make your pupils larger. I got them b/c I thought the brown color looked more natural than the U.S. colored contacts, but I don't necessarily want my pupils to be that HUGE. Although the color was much more natural, the ginourmous pupils don't look very natural & sometimes look a bit scary. IMO I almost feel like I look like a cartoon kitty cat that's making the big sad eyes. I think that that's actually the look that the contacts are suppose to give. They refer to the look as "Barbie" doll eyes. I did notice though that my eyes do look similar to my 3 year old daughter's when I wore them b/c her pupils are huge & take up most of her eye. I never noticed that until getting the circle lenses. So, I guess they do give your eyes a more youthful appearance? Maybe I just have to get use to them.

Yeah, it was FreshLook. But, like all the color contacts I have tried... you can still look from the side and tell they were fake. They were like a pearlescent color, looked awesome from the front view.

I did try the FreshLook ones & they did not look natural at all. I know the ones that are "colorblends" are suppose to look more natural, but I find the ones w/o all of the lines to look more natural. Oh well, the search continues.

Hi Leidon. I just saw radiance on my sister's eyes and they look really natural and pretty. Maybe you should check it out. She wore Autumn.

Hi poohlisey. I tried the Radiance Autumn & it still made me look scary. Even the optician was surprised. I don't know what it is about my eyes. I think it's b/c they're big & cat eye shaped & everything makes me look kind of possessed. The most natural I've found were the plain brown & suprisingly the amethyst. Still, I'd only be able to get away with wearing them in the evening.

I'm like leidon, I want to enhance my brown eyes. US they don't offer much option for brown eyes Mad . Acuvue 2 Asia has a line call Define, and within that line there are Accent and Vivid. Yes, it does make the iris slightly bigger, but it's no where as big as barbie contact Laughing. Look alot more natural and true to yourself.

I like the Accent more since I like the rich brown glow it gives. Vivid give a really nice glow to the eyes too but lighter in color. I HTH!

Wow Charmaine. The contacts sound exactly like what I'm looking for. Do you know if they ship to U.S. or if there is a web site I can order from?
