Do sauanas and face masks essentially do the same thing?

I was wondering if saunas do the same thing for your face, as a face mask would? They both seem to extract and clear pores, so could one be as good as the other?

If not, which one is generally better in your opinion?

Awesome Smile I have a facial sauna at home and I figured it would be better than applying face masks, since they usually are more messy to use.

By the way, what are AHA's?

Alpha Hydroxy Acids. You can steam your face a little to open your pores, pat/wipe the sweat off then apply the mask. Wait a few mins then re-steam. I'm a facial steamer evangelist. I have a pro face steamer so I can lay on my back and steam. They're pretty affordable and well worth the $$ in my opinion.

ETA: If you've never used AHAs I'd wait before steaming with an AHA mask just to be safe.

No, I've never had that problem. I only steam 2-3x per week and I have pretty tick, olive tone skin. So if you are prone to broken capilaries I would start off slow and find what works for you.
