I decided to discontinue using my DIY DMAE serum 3%, because it makes my skin too dry and is irritating. Maybe this is because I also use Retin A, which on its own doesnt give me problems though.

Also, I noticed that my clothes smell funny somehow at the end of the day, if I apply it to my neck and decollete. Anyone else notice this?? Its only where I put the serum, and only if I use it.

Aside from other issues with DMAE, yes, I find it makes my skin dry and irritated too. =\ I purchased a 2% amine DMAE bottle but it's just sitting on my shelf right now.

I use DMAE serum from Candessence and I don't find it either drying or irritating. I follow it with a moisturizer and am thrilled with its firming effects.

I stopped using my PSF Firming Toner with DMAE for the winter because my skin is too dry and it was adding to the dryness. In the summer it was fine.

I noticed that Candy has HA in her DMAE serum, and that many other makers of this serum do not. I wonder if this is the key to preventing any dryness from occurring? Has anyone tried applying a HA serum on top of their DMAE to see what happens?

I used the Skincare Central DMAE which is in a HA serum base, and I get massive amounts of peeling skin when I use it, even if I dilute it out.

Also someone asked what other reactions I got with DMAE: if it goes anywhere near my eye area, I get an immediate (in 1 or 2 mins) severe sagging of my eyelids.

I use the Tripeptinon in the Amino Genesis line & have never had a problem. It has high concentrates of DMAE but also moisturizer.

I found DMAE drying when I first started using it (PSF DMAE Gel). But I think my skin was dry and flaking because I hadn't restored it to its normal state after too much exfoliation. I've started using DMAE again, now that my skin seems more normal, and I'm not having the same drying that I had before. I like it now! Sometimes using products is a matter of timing!

Hi, I posted this on another thread concerning DMAE. I have very dry skin and I use the psf 3% DMAE and their HA serum. I have had wonderful results and no drying of skin at all. Both products sink into my skin leaving it plump and glowing. The trick with DMAE might be the use of HA and a moisturizer.

I don't get dryness, but if I try to use more than 3%, I get burning/stinging around my eyes & they actually start to look worse instead of better.

I have so far tried Candy's 4% DMAE, SAS 4% DMAE, Skincarecentral 4% DMAE amine, and now IFP's 7.5% DMAE. I don't find any of them irritating or drying, but I also don't get any tight feeling either. I don't see any lifting effect. I think I might need a higher percentage or something to feel it.

DMAE's effects are most noted in the undereye area - so if you don't need a lot of toning in that area, you may not notice any results - even from higher percentages.

bkkgirl since you are only in your 30's you most likely do not have very much sagging and that is why you probably have not noticed a major difference using DMAE serums.

DMAE not only reacts badly with my skin (I get some weird puffing and swelling), but it makes my skin PEEL like mad when I use it. So sad since I have an almost full bottle of the 2% amine DMAE.
