Ok, here's my deal... I'm about to turn 30 and I've never had a real haircut . Trims, yes, but never had it cut more than 3 or 4 inches which is unnoticable on me. My hair reaches anywhere from the bottom of my bottom to my knees (depending how often I trim it). I've been debating on whether or not to cut it for the past 2 yrs now, and I think I'm ready . But the only way I'm gonna do it is if I'm going to the best of the best. I know I'm gonna cry, but I'd rather it be because I gave up my hair and not because I just got a horrid haircut.
So now I just need to find the BEST hairstylist or hairdesigner or w/e their called (forgive me I'm totally new at the whole thing) in Chicago, that I can get my hands on. I can only do it once so I'm absolutely willing to pay ungodly prices and wait for months on a list to get in. I just need someone that's gonna treat my hair like it's insured by loyd's of london
Thanks in advance for your help!

I am sure when Candy views this thread she will have good advice. I certainly understand why you want the BEST. Good luck. |

Good Morning!
I do have an excellent stylist to recommend to you AND she won't cost you a kings ransom.
PM me and I can give you more details if you're interested.
Down to your knees?!?!?!?!? |

I live in the western suburbs and have a FAB hairdresser who'll be working P/T at the new Zazu salon in Oak Brook Center. PM me if your're interested. She's been doing my hard to handle hair for >8yrs.
If I could make a suggestion? Maybe plan on getting enough cut off (at least 10 inches) so you could donate it to an organization that makes wigs out of human hair for cancer/chemo patients. You might even feel better about getting your haircut! |

I just got done pm'ing Candy for her info and I told her I was planning on posting pics on here that I was going to take for the Locks of Love site. And I'm thinking that if I do it I'm going all the way... so those kiddos are hopefully getting more than one wig outta me. I'm going to go short... no more closing the car door on my hair or (forgive the gross factor) pulling my hair outta the way to go to the bathroom.
And thanks so much for the support everyone. I need all I can get with this |

Hi MissDehlia. What you are thinking of doing is wonderful, and it would be a great feeling to be able to help children who have experienced hair loss. I have heard a few things about LOL being a little less than perfect (they have come under criticism (including from the BBB) for selling hair rather than using it in wigs and not disclosing that practice), so I suggest you do your own research and maybe look into one of the alternative groups. Anyway, best of luck and keep us updated! |

HOLY MOLY are you serious!!!!????? I never in a million years would of thought of something like that. And that's just the most horrid thing a company could do Stealing hair meant for a child with cancer is worse than stealing candy from a baby!!! After reading that I really want to kick someone or something right now....
OK deeeep breath....
I'm so glad you brought this to my attention. Imagine all the people that thought they were doing something nice and helpful by donating their hair and not making a profit themselves, just to have those jerky's turn around and sell it. I'll definately hit the web and find another organization |
