Hello!
With all the talk about shaving your face, I decided to try out Veet's Facial Waxing Strips for Sensitive Skin. I have blonde fuzz all around my jawline, from my ear down to my chin. I used the strips and wow, my skin was so smooth after and my liquid foundation went on flawless. But, a few days later I developed tons of pimples all down my jaw on both sides of my face. (I do have mild breakouts time to time but never on my jawline). So is waxing or shaving your face going to give you bumps like it would if you did your bikini line? I never thought of this? I guess I won't be using these again any time soon. |

Do you use Vit-A product? Waxing is a big no-no when using Vit-A. Just a thought. |

in general, waxing/tweezing/threading can make you more sensitive. Here are the guidelines my favorite hair removal spa suggests (fromwww.shobhathreading.com):
After-Care
The area that was treated may be more sensitive than usual for the next 24 - 48 hours.
Please be kind to your skin, avoid harsh products, that may have adverse reactions, for the next 24 - 48 hours after your treatment.
Refrain from using skin care products, like cleansers and moisturizers, which contain acids (i.e. alpha-hydroxy, glycolic, salicylic, etc.)
Although these acidic ingredients help remove the dead outer layers of skin, they may cause an adverse reaction after hair removal, depending on the sensitivity of your skin.
Avoid ultra-violet rays from tanning beds and/or sunbathing for at least 48 hours. Always wear proper UV protection.
Resist the sauna and steam room for at least 48 hours.
If you have been waxed/sugared/threaded¹
Gently wash the area with an antibacterial soap in lukewarm water. Hold off taking hot baths/showers for at least 2 hours after your treatment.
Use a cold compress to help soothe the hairless skin if you feel any discomfort or irritation after your treatment.
Medical experts recommend abstaining from sexual activity for the first 48 hours after any type of bikini wax. This time period is when your body is most susceptible to outside bacteria which can potentially cause an infection.
We recommend daily exfoliation of the area to help prevent ingrown hairs after the first 48 hours. You can check out our range of exfoliation products at Shobha SoHo, Shobha Madison, and online (www.shobhathreading.com)!
Hydrocortisone cream may be used after any hair removal treatments to help reduce irritation and inflammation, as long as you have no medical reasons prohibiting its use. Feel free to ask your specialist to apply some hydrocortisone cream before you leave. You may also reapply the cream at home that evening if you feel any further irritation. Hydrocortisone cream can be found at your local drug store.
I've personally also found it helps to stay away from makeup for a day or two, just in case.
HTH! |

Hi WildCat:
Yes, I use Avene Ystheal+ Emulsion Lotion (0.05% Retinalhyde). Although I didn't use this or any products on my face the night I did the facial waxing. I only cleansed with a gel cleanser. I am really hating my face right now, I haven't seen this many pimples since my teen years, Ugh!
Hi Sark:
Thanks for all the info. I think I will stay away from the Veet Facial Waxing Strips and maybe try the razor next time and see what happens.
The pimples are so bad right now, I had to refrain from using my Vit. C serum in the morning and AHA Serum at night. Just putting on sunblock in the morning. |

Hello MystyPines,
I think you are not suppose to do waxing within a week of retinol treatment. |
