I go for facials about every 6-7 weeks, depending on my schedule. I get steaming, cleansing, facial massage, extractions. Just this basic stuff done regularly has made a huge difference in my complexion.

I used to get professional facials done every 4 weeks for a couple of years - the salons used commercial brands on me such as Dermalogica, Danne Montague-King, Ella Bache, Clarins, etc.

Now with my DIY skincare regime, I have been doing facials on myself 3 to 5 days a week for the past 8 months. My skin has never looked better, and I have never spent less money on skincare! I haven't had to do extractions for the past 3 months!

I get a facial about every 4-6 months depending on need such as dry skin, flakiness, blocked pores, etc. I have a skinmasters facial done which is a handheld ultrsonic metal wand/device that gently scrapes over the skin with vibration and removes debris. It is very gentle and better for my skin than microdermabrasion. That is followed by a steamer, cleaning and a moisturising mask. It takes about 45 min to an hour but my skin glows and is as smooth as a baby's.

I get one once a month, just a basic facial w/steaming, deep cleasing, extractions, etc. It helps keep my skin congestion really under control, and when I do it regularly, I see a huge difference. I started a couple of years ago going every other week to get it under control. After a couple of months, I went to once a month. Now if I can just find a monthly treatment to get my hyperpigmentation under control!! Wink

I have a facial every 3 ~ 4 weeks. Though my skin still gets dry and sensitive from time to time.

nyonyakay, can you share how you do it yourself? It sounds like you do a really good job. Thanks Smile

I live in California and go for a facial every month or two or three. It makes a big difference who your aesthetician is and the type of facial you get, otherwise it doesn't matter how frequently you go if he/she sucks (and I've definitely been to one or two of those!). In my opinion, the extraction is the most important part - probably because I have oily, clogged pores. An aesthetician can get at your skin at different angles than you can't and with a huge magnifying glass and light.

When I was in Hong Kong I went every week. Two hour facials, $25-40. Here in California, I pay $150 for a two hour facial, not including tip. That's why I can't go every week.
