another sunscreen with a lower SPF of 30 has a higher PPD of 26?

Here's the SPF 60 with PPD 22 one: http://www.skincarecentral.biz/suncreen-vichy-children.html

Here'e one with SPF 30 but PPD 26:

SPF is a measurement of UVB protection. Ultraviolet light is made up of UVB (tanning rays) and UVA (wrinkling rays - they go deeper into your skin. PPD measures UVA protection. Unfortunately here in the US, most of the concern has been all SPF (tanning rays) but now FDA has finally clued in and is allowing the use of Mexoryl/Tinosorb (excellent UVA protectors)in our sunscreens. So we will get UVA/UVB - ie, broad spectrum - protection. My favorite is LaRochePosay's dermo-Pediatrics spf40SPRAY. Matte, non-sticky finish with a PPD of around 18, I think.

betterat40, thanks for the tip. I will have to try LRP this coming summer.

Yes, thank you! I just ordered a sample of Bioderma Photoderm with SPF50+ which according to the MUA web site, it means SPF100 but the European govt didn't let companies list anything higher than SPF 50 any more.
