Can anyone please recommend a good cleanser for reactive/sensitive/hormonal acneic/over 40 skin?In the last month I started using NaturDerm's Epidermx II and Chrysalyx.I liked both products so much, I ordered full sizes and added their Triple Lavender Face Foam cleanser. It has been about 10 days using all 3 products and for the last week I have had all kinds of new eruptions. It is much worse than usual. The only conclusion I can make is that the cleanser does not agree with me.Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am so disappointed! I thought I was on my way to clear skin |

The best cleanser for what you are describing is Murad, from their Resurgence line. Its called 'Renewing Cleansing Cream", it provides moisture and very gently exfoliates. It is pretty gentle and is made for over 40 hormonal skin. Murad has a number of products in this line and they are all excellent. |

Any cleanser that contains salicylic acid is good for acne skin. Try to read ingredient before buying.
Good luck |

My thought, you should stop to apply anythings for reduce irration and redness, use organic jojoba oil 100% for cleansing and wash face by mild face wash (no bubble, no BHA-salicylic acid).
I did like this about a week and after that I still use jojoba oil for cleasing, face wash by acne aid and dad Differin 0.1% only night time. My skin fast recovered.
Good luck, I hope you will recover soon. |

Maybe you should try emailing Amy from Naturdermx to tell her your situations. I really love Epidermxll, and I just started using it. Hope you'll find a solution asap. Don't worry too much. |

i think you might be as well to know whether the eruption is caused by allergy |

Thanks for all the suggestions. I am waiting to hear back from Amy. I also wondered if I am allergic or at least overly sensitive to a specific ingredient in the Lavender face foam. For now I am taking it easy with products, but I was really hoping to find a good cleanser that doesn't upset my PH and is tolerable for sensitive types like me. Any ideas? |

I use Bliss Fabulous Foaming Face Wash to remove makeup. It doesn't really foam (contrary to the name) but it is super gentle, remove makeup, dirt and oil really well. Also contains Rosehips, which are known to help with breakouts and pigmentation.
In the morning, I use DDF Blemish Foaming Cleanser. Another really great cleanser. Won't remove makeup, but is gentle, and this one actually DOES foam.
Right now, I'm trying Acnease. They are herbal pills, and being the skeptic that I am, didn't think they would work......well, it's that time of the month when I usually get at least 2-3 huge zits, and not one has popped up! It's only been a week, but for some strange reason, my face isn't oily at all, the scars are lessening and my face is clear.....I will write a full review after a month or so on this.
HTH! |

hi,
i'd agree with this advice, especially if you are experiencing what you claim to be a reaction. the bezoyl peroxide in proactive would be the worst possible thing for your skin right now--stay away from BP products, as they will potentially scar your skin--they will clear your blemishes up fast, but leave the general health of your skin a mess and you will have red marks forever. treat your skin nicely and just remember to try to avoid anything that might cause wounds and scarring.

I don't know about helping with the acne but when my skin becomes reactive and irritated (weather or product irritation ) I use Dermalogica Ultracalming Cleanser, its very gentle and I find it really soothes irritated skin . they are very generous with samples so would recommend trying it . |

I prefer 100% organic jojoba oil (as same as I use) . It is not expansive and quite suitable for sensitive skin. I hope you will recover sooner. |

I use Dr Renaud's intervention sebopure cleansing milk (removes excess sebum) in the morning, phytogel epidermal cleanser in the evening and intervention fluid base as a day moisturizer, and my skin looks better than it has in years. |
