Was it just me whom noticed that Gore was introduced and addressed as "the Vice President of the United States" a few times last night? It ought to have been "formerVice President of the United States".
For as much as I admire the man, and am glad that he won his award, I'm sure that a few noses in Washington are out of joint over the error.
This is NOT a political post. I just found the boo-boos to be humorous. Maybe those at the Kodak Theater were just excited about having The Queen in their prescence too?! |

Good ear Caspers Mum. I thought that was rather odd myself.
Although, even when a President's office has come to an end, he is still referred to as President. as: President Bill Clinton, President Ronald Regan, President Gerald Ford. Living or deceased they are still referred to as President. Perhaps it is the same for the Vice President.
I was delighted for Al Gore. He is so passionate about global warming. The award was well deserved. |

it is the same for Vice President -- it wasn't a boo-boo. Al Gore will always be Vice President Al Gore until/unless he becomes President Al Gore. that's the way it works in the U.S. |

This use to confuse me too, but its true, they are called that for life, sometimes in the news you will hear them referred to as "former" but its correct either way. Also interesting tidbit...this is the first time in 80 years that a sitting President or Vice President hasn't been running for office. |

I think it's incredible to have a Vice President win an Oscar! Very well-deserved. |
