Maybe it's the big "M", but my onetime ruddy cheeks turn into dark red/purple ones quite often now. I can't even think of sipping on wine or eating spicy food because my face darkens into a ruby red if I do. I have used metrogel but a masque sounds alot more fun! Does anyone have any thoughts on a kind that would work on redness along with my sometimes normal/dry, sometimes normal/oily 55 year old skin? Thank you!  |

A masque does sound like more fun, RuthMarion!  IMHO Dr Hauschka's Rejuvenating Masque is most excellent for taking down the red. My skin always looks better and calmer after using it. If my skin is really inflamed or irritated, I'll even wear it all day under my MMU. |

| I like the Dr. H Rejuv mask and I just tried the moistuizing mask last night (by Dr. H). It was really nice and left my skin moisturized and fresh looking. |

| Have you tried a home made mix of some yoghurt and cucumber and maybe some aloe gel? They are all very cooling ingredients. |

I have the Dr H Rejuvenating Masque in my cupboard - I didn't know that it was good for redness so I'll try it tonight. The Dermalogica sounds good as well. I may need to stock up on these sorts of items to keep the flushing away  I was wondering about either the Kamins line or the rosacea one by Murad. I use the Darphin Intral Masque (& now I can do the Dr H one ) - Decleor seems to have similar things to Darphin. Maybe I should look there, too.

| I'll add my voice to those recommending the Dr. H Rejuvenating Mask. Also, although it's not a mask, I'd suggest Dr. H Rhythmic Night Conditioner (perhaps the sensitive skin formulation). I find a course of that to be wonderfully soothing when my skin is irritated. |

| I am always searching for the ultimate mask that is calming, soothing, relaxing you name it! But fav is still the Dr H mask everyone else has mentioned. It actually gets rid of some of the redness on my cheecks. |

| I like to use the Dr H Rejuv. Mask when my skin's more on the oily side and the Dr H Firming Mask when it seems more dry. Both are great! |

| How about Eminence masks? They seem to get really good reviews on EDS and they're natural as well. I've got their Carrot Mask and quite like it. It's really hydrating for me and my face feels fresh and soft after using it. |

I wouldn't stop the Metrogel-- I would use both Metrogel and a mask!

| You could make your own pretty easily - I like mixing some yogurt with a little mashed banana, honey and sometimes a little egg yolk and applying this to my face. I find this very soothing. I also like some of the Astara masks -- the Golden Flame and the Nourishing Vitamin mask are quite soothing. |
