my nose is red and the surrounding area is as well. sometimes its not as noticable, but other times it is. it does get dry after i wash it. the rest of my face doesnt dry out as much as this part does. i dont think its rosecea, the dermotologist said it wasnt.

a week ago i started using Dermologica Anti-Bac (2x a day) Dermologica Microfoliant, 1 x a day or every other day. and Avalon Vit C Serum as a moisturizer. I use Alba shaving gel to shave.

any suggestions? what about product-wise? whats a good regimen?

would seeing aesthatician help?

I find that laying off the whiskey helps!
Seriously though... Is it just red or is it burst capillaries? Do you work outside a lot especially in the cold? Maybe you are using products that are too harsh for your particular skin type. Have you tried using a plain straightforward emolliant? Maybe something that you might use on nappy rash for a baby (I'm being serious now!)? Could be worth trying that for a bit to see if it settles, especially if it's just a recentish thing.
Hope that helps Liz

Perhaps you just have sensitive skin in that area? Decleor Harmonie Essentiel is fab for sensitive skin (my other half is living proof of that!).

However, skin could also be lacking in moisture inctead of being sensitive; vitamin C serums (in general) are NOT moisturisers so you may actually be missing the moisturisation step.

Have you seen a dermatologist? I am just suggesting it because it may be rosacea or some sort of dermatitis or something. Murad just came out with a new line for skin that gets red. I haven't tried it, but their other products seem to work well. You can check out the link at: http://www.murad.com/html/sect10963site10020.jsp?a=b

If it is broken capillaries, make sure that you wear a good sunblock outside & you could try Vitamin K therapy. Studies have shown that topical vitamin K can reduce spider veins, redness, and bruising. Plastic surgeons apply it after lipo to reduce redness & bruising.

Seems like your skin is very sensative/ reactive. Be very gentle with your skin/nose and cream/powder with a green tone with work wonders.
How are you liking dermalogica? You have to try their shave oil it's amazing.

My derm gave me a prescription cream called Aclovate to reduce chronic redness. I don 't use anymore but it did take away this chronic redness I had where old cystic acne had been.
