does anyone here have a serious reaction to refined foods, sugar or flour such as white breads in the form of acne? im trying to find a diet that will be good for my skin but im really baffled at all the different information and possibilities out there. i also read something about watching the glycemic index of certain foods and avoiding ones that are high. has anyone ever tried that before?
"The glycemic index is a ranking of carbohydrates based on their immediate effect on blood glucose (blood sugar) levels. It compares foods gram for gram of carbohydrate. Carbohydrates that breakdown quickly during digestion have the highest glycemic indexes. The blood glucose response is fast and high. Carbohydrates that breakdown slowly, releasing glucose gradually into the blood stream, have low glycemic indexes."
and supposedly the blood glucose response affects hormones and insulin which causes acne, but im confused, i thought maybe just refined sugars would cause acne...ahhh so much to consider! |
