I'd like to do a sort of survey for those who deep roll and still have a regular menstrual cycle.
Last night I rolled with the 1.5mm and it was agonising; I didn't manage any blood spots and couldn't press hard at all. This was a very big difference from last month when I felt my skin was getting used to being rolled (due to daily and weekly shallow rolls).
However I realise that right now I am ovulating.
Last month I was just finishing my period.
I wonder if there is a 'good' time in ones cycle for rolling with less pain.
Can anyone else comment with their own experience of this? |

Ok, I have to ask this. How do you know when you are ovulating? |

I'll PM you; too much information that would even embarrass me
But let's just say, my friends notice it also (with themselves I might add!) so I'm not alone in knowing this. |

Hey guys I did my first roll on last Friday night. I did it without EMLA or anything and it wasn't too bad. The area is healing nicely but some of the skin looks a little loose is this normal? I roll using Vit A and CP!
I think loose can be a normal (somewhat) reaction. Moisturize the heck outta it - the A & D ointment that owndoc gives with a purchase is perfect for dehydration after a roll. It occludes it enuf and smothers it with the vitamins A & D so it helps it recover from the shock of a roll. Another moisturizer like emu oil is good too.
Hi everyone,
has anyone else noticed a looseness of their skin after dermarolling ? If so, is this with all needle lengths ? If we do notice it, is it best to back off from using them ?
many thanks
Jackie xx
How long after rolling do you notice the looseness? For 24 hours after 1.5mm rolling my face is tight with the swelling.
My skin was loose a day after, but I was rolling SM on my stomach. It has since return to normal but it was a little weird! |

A little update on my rolling. I did my first short needle roll about 3 wks ago. I had some dehydrated skin after my roll and it took a couple of weeks to get back to normal. It's looking really good right now. Back then, it was loose, dry, flakey and red/irritated. |

Since I'm just getting back into this and haven't kept up on the news, can someone answer my question about what topicals (if any) are used immediately after or before a 1.5 roll?
Should Vit A & Vit C be used right after a roll?
I know they should be used for at least 3 wks before a roll, but what about immediately afterwards? |

That is what Dr. Fernandes has recommended, Foxe, and he uses the oil soluble forms of A and C for after the roll. |

Rileygirl, forgive me if you have already said this. Do you know of a good product that has oil based C and A in it? |

Environ's EssentiA oil has both A and C. I use 302's C boost and A boost and just combine them in the palm of my hand (Bethany had great success with that combo after rolling.). I know Barefootgirl has a recipe out there, as well. I am not sure where she posted it, but I know she did!! Otherwise, I am not sure what else there is to be honest with you! |

The "good" time to roll in one's cycle was discussed a while back. This might help..
http://www.beinggirl.co.uk/your-body/periods-calendar/ I'm assuming right after your period, before you're ovulating? Correct me if I've got it wrong.
Day 24 is when you're a lot more sensitive to pain, apparently. Learnt a few things from this calendar, myself.. |

Thanks for digging that up riley - I hadn't seen that one yet.
This statement is the main reason why I want to use copper peptides in my rolling regimes.
“Since the production of both collagen and elastin is reduced in aging skin and in skin exposed to ultraviolet light, copper peptides may be able to help produce new collagen and hence repair aged skin.”
I’ve been alternating CPs /Vit A with Vit C/Vit A because I wasn’t sure the CPs would do what was required in the collagen building since they also act as anti-inflammatories. But after reading this link, I feel reassured that using CPs is the right thing to do. Yippee!! |

This quote, found on the link above, makes me wonder if using MMU is OK after a short needle roll?
Anyone know? |

I don't know, Foxe. I know there are a lot of people rolling in a lot of different things, but I always error on the side of caution with this and stick with the A and C oil forms when I roll, and I do the rolls at night! |

Thank you for the info. Rileygirl. OK, so if we use CP's after rolling, it has to be only after a short needle roll, not a long needle roll because it's anti-inflammatory. Is that right?
Foxe, I wondered the same thing about MMU. Maybe it's best to only roll at night like Riley suggested. |

I'll need to change things up to do a roll at night but it might be for the best, so we'll see. |

I only do rolls in the evening - This is how it works out for my lifestyle so whatever I put on is there until the morning. Usually I do a layer of treatments starting with anti oxidant serum combined with lipids and then later retin a or CP's.
Tonia - after a deep roll I think I would use a nourishing anti oxidant blend and oils. I would save CP's for the shorter rolls as it is anti-inflammatory. This is what I'm going to try next roll I do. |

I haven't had any success using CP's after shallow rolls but just started using "Let's Make Collagen" and skin is looking good!
Foxe it's worth to keep repeating this; you don't have to use anything after a 1.5mm roll. Deep rolls aren't about a product penetrating into the dermis, it's about the repair mechanism the 1.5mm needles produce. However that said, Dr. Fernandes is probably one of the few (only?) who will make a product to specifically use with deep rolling so if you're going to use anything then his products will be suitable. |

How low were you using the CP's, Miranda? I have just started the supercop x 2 on my lip lines (and I also have been using the Let's Make Collagen!).
Thought I would share this from owndoc. I asked about the single needling. Some of you may already know this, but for those that don't here were her recommendations to me.
"Prick your wrinkles once every month, until they improve. You have to be patient because it might take up to one year to achieve significant results.
When you see some occasional pinpoint bleeding when pricking, you know that you reached the dermis part of the skin (that is your target). Do not go any deeper than pinpoint bleeding. We currently have single needles that are 1.8 mm long. So they stop automatically at that depth." |

Hi everyone,
would the single needles be worth the investment if one is already using 0.2 and 1.5 dermarollers? I'm wondering if I could target individual wrinkles more,
thanks

Hi RileyG,
Ok I'll sheepishly admit I was only using PSF Bio-Copper for just under a month but I haven't seen anything in terms of improvement (in fact because I haven't been using the Infadolan with rolling, my skin feels drier and more papery.)
I'm going to shallow roll with the LMC at night and use the CP in the morning but if my skin continues to feel dry, then it will be regulated to use on body.
How long have you been using LMC? Do you use it in conjunction with rolling and what's your opinion on it?
The needles mentioned by Owndoc must be different from the two I got from them - mine are 9mm long! |

Miranda - one month is defintely not long enuf to give CPs to see *if* they're working. Also, the GHK in PSF's Bio-Copper is the gentlest CP out there - a first generation CP. The 2nd gen CPs that Skin Bio has are way stronger. You should give those a try. They also have a newer CP called Skin Signals that has collagen and elastin in it that is getting rave reviews for tightening skin. I would also use CPs for a longer time before trying the LMC you have (JMO - I'm a CP fan, sorry)

My single needles are longer than that in total length, but the actual needle at the bottom that will do the penetrating must be the length of 1.8 mm that was mentioned earlier. That's good to know. These needles have a natural 'stop' built into them. |

Thanks, Miranda. I just started the CP (and only on my lip lines) this past week, so not enough time for me to see anything.
I have been using the LMC for about 2 weeks now? I use that and then I put the mitochondrial cream on top. I have not used them with the dermaroller, as I apply both of those in the morning! So far while I like both of those products, my skin has definitely felt dryer from the LMC! Definitely keep us posted on how it works with the rolling! |
