It has been 4 months since I started to use this product for hair loss on sides and top of my head. I have long hair and was quite upset by the amount that was falling out. I've gone to experts in hair loss in Switzerland and was told I had lost 40% of the hair on the sides and they prescribed this product and Minoxidil. They also told me that there is a period of maximum of 18months from when hair lost starts that you have to stop it or the follicle will stop working. It is a clear liquid that you put in your hair. It is not greasy and absorbs quickly.
I ordered the minoxidil from the US as it is so expensive in Switzerland, but started to notice hair growth with just the Alpicort F, so I did not start it. (As Minoidil has other side effects and once you start you have to use it forever)
The first thing I noticed was that my loss of hair - 400-800 a day reduced to just a few hairs.
Then I noticed around the front of my hair line lots of little hairs. They have since grown into a fringe that is thick and now 3 inches long. I have lots of hair growth on the side and top of my head. I can see little hairs everywhere. They are coming in like thin hairs but growing thick. The hair on the side of my head was so thin I didn't pull it back anymore. As a result of the hairs growing in, you can not see the scalp anymore.
I wanted to give an update on this situation as I know many peri and menopausal women suffer from hair loss and how much of an impact is has on your self esteem.
In switzerland this is a prescription product but that differs by country so do not know about the USA.
cheers

Thanks for the review:)
I'm going to let my older sister know about this (she is in Basel). We have been getting her Nioxxin products but I don't think they are doing much. If you don't mid me asking, how much does it cost over there? |

Hi
It is 27.55swiss francs which = about 24USD for
a supply that lasts me 2 months.
Recommend your sister goes to a specialist who really cares.
She can go to a dermatologist in Basel and have them examine her and ask for this or other things they recommend.
My Dermatologist told me Nioxin would not do anything and would waste time.
Good luck to her |

hey, im 23 years old women with diffuse hair loss. my doctor told me to put on alpicort f. i was wondering if you can share more about your experience with it. my doctor told me that i should put it on once a day for 2 weeks then reduce it to 3 times a week, is that what you did? do you shower in the night after putting it on? do you have to wash your hair every day or it doesnt matter? also can you tell me if its bad to touch you scalp then touch your face or any part of your body (i mean after the solution has dried)? becuase im scared that when i sleep my pillow will have some solution and it will go on my face. did you have any side effects? sorry for asking too many questions but i just started it 2 days ago. its really making me sad and i need some support and more understanding. im happy that your getting good results. |
