I have a question about other serums/lotions that are used for antioxidant benefits.
Unforchantly I have acne and I'm prone to breakouts from Vitamin C serums and need to limit my use to whenever I need extra protection from the sun.
I have heard about something called "bio-maple" and the soy in aveeno products/someone told me they are more gentle then ascorbic acid. Does anyone have any experiance/knowledge in this area? |

daniel, I'm not at all familiar with Aveeno products but alpha lipoic acid is purported to be a more effective anti-oxidant than ascorbic acid. Other effective anti-oxidants are raspberry, pomegranate and green tea. In addition to all the green tea I drink, I also take supplements to boost antioxidant effects internally. For topical applications, I started using Alphaderma CE which contains alpha lipoic acid, DMAE and c-Ester with great results so far. [and I have oily skin with tendency for clogged pores, this has NOT caused any breakouts!] I was curious about bio-maple and did a search on this topic. Nothing cropped up, but here's an interesting discussion on soy that may be helpful...

To locate more discussions on soy, use the search feature, type in soy and limit your results to look in Topic titles only so you don't get overwhelmed with too many results
Best of luck to you, |
