I am in training to be a Life Coach (I already have my domain name and business email) and will be certified in June. Of course I choose a spirtual training group which fits for me perfectly if you know me at all!

I wondered if anyone has used one and what your thoughts were? It would help me out to hear them.

thanks!

You can be coached over the phone. That is all I do right now while learning as I have no office.

I like my trainer, her name is Billie (guidingmindfulchange.com)if you don't want phone coaching or don't like her style which is spiritual/gentle, then you can check out the coaching federation for a list of coaches near you. Billie may be able to recommend someone in your area. I know she is the head of some board but it might be S.CA?

If you have not found anyone by June, once I am certified and you are comfortable with phone coaching, I would be more than happy to assist you. Just notify me by our private mail box. deb Smile

First let me say that you are in no way ignorant. I just heard the term last year. Even when I thought I knew what it was, once I started training it was still different than what I thought. Feel better now? Wink

Short background of me. I am 45 and searched for the last 30 yrs of what I wanted to be when I grew up. I see this alot with woman, especially around the 40's and after during our *change*. So you all are in GOOD company! Very Happy

A Life Coach helps you take action, we don't tell/judge or direct you per se. So let's say you are ready to change a habit, you might hire Life Coach and the coaches *job* is to help YOU figure out what you already know.

If the client needs are beyond coaching and they need a psychologist or psychritist we tell them their issue is not our area of expertise. Now the opposite can occur where the psychologist may suggest a coach.

Every coaching school is different like any training. I was fortunate enough to find a good school that really cares about the students success and training.

Like every profession/position/job out there, there are good and bad. If you don't relate or resonate with one, search another. I, myself have had good/bad counselors in the past. Like all there are more qualified than others. Like all some are just in it for the money, personally that is my hardest area, working with people is my easiest.

If I as a coach didn't feel the coachee was move forwarding after 2 sessions I would end our sessions and refund the money. I can not speak for other coaches.

I am receiving my training from guidingmindfulchange, com which can tell you about the training that I am receiving. It resonates with me the best.

I wasn't comfortable during training at first being coached but I could see the benefit for me once involved. I wasn't sure how my practice clients would feel and they seem to really benefit from it. I found it to be a learned skill. It was not as easy I thought as I am analytical and use to telling people things, not allowing them the space/time to figure it out themselves with gentle guiding.

The cool thing is, NO ONE tells you, YOU figure it out for you with the guidance and assitance of an objective party who only follows your lead. Does that make sense?

Someone who goes to a a psychologist might want to figure out their past to move forward. Working with a life coach you start at the present and take action forward.

I hope I have explained it so you have a better understanding. Smile

If you have any further questions please feel free to email me at AMindfulLifeCoach@yahoo. I will answer them best I can! I have my business email set-up but not my website yet. (some here on the beauty board know I had a beauty website 2 years ago, that is one of my passions as well as helping others Smile
