I think it's the greatest!
When I brainlessly surf, I listen to:
Radio City Malmö from Sweden - http://www.nwrweb.com/player/show/minradio.se/radiocitymalmo/20
and
Radio N1 Nürnberg from Germany - http://www.hitradion1.de/#
and then I listen to Live365, CelticMelt Station because it's romantic and dreamy
and Meditation Music also on Live365 when I am studying/working..
What do you like listening to? |

I used to listen to RadioSonicNet. I don't even know if they exist anymore. I discovered Faudel there.
NPR has a nice archive of live shows they put on. Between that and youtube, I have been heavily medicating myself with steady doses, audio and visual, of Amy Winehouse, Regina Spektor, and Nellie Mckay. Last year it was, from the same series, the live show with Neko Case (of New Pr0nographers fame) and Martha Wainwright.
My work blocks most streaming, otherwise I would be listening to NPR/WNYC all day. I Hrecommend Brian Lehrer's (talk) show. I have to try to tune in using a -- gasp -- REAL RADIO!!!
And of course, youtube has all the Complaints Choirs! |

Admittedly, I have a large collection of 80's tunes, and one of those bizarre memories which recalls too much info. from the decade. Warning: don't ever play "Rock n' Roll Jeopardy" with me.
I'm not thrilled by any of Vancouver's local radio stations, as I'm tired of their content, CRTC regulations. All I want is good music! Therefore, I tend to tune-in to L.A.'s KROQ on-line. Great station.
The station is after my own heart, as they also offer their ROQ of the 80's feed. Basically uninterupted tunes, and such fantastic variety! You can't miss it, for the link is there, in blue! http://kroq.com/index2.html

I listen to Y92 streaming on line. It is really cool. Commericals but at least it is not interupted by log off and such because some of them want you to pay.... |

I love http://www.last.fm - it's not really a radio station, but you can choose a band you love and it will play a continuous stream of recommended music, based on other bands with a similar feel. You can skip tracks or save them to a playlist. You can even choose never to have a particular song you dislike played on there again. |

I second, third, and fourth Last.fm! I used to go the Live365 route, but Last.fm is better hands down! |

I've heard that Brian Lehrer show. Life issues, politics, greater NYC-area-oriented including NJ, smart discussion, often very serious guests, liberal/left-leaning with a real effort toward staying objective. Leonard Lopate, who follows him, also has a great show, more oriented toward the arts. Together their shows run from 10 am to 2 pm, and are rebroadcast starting 1 am, on the AM station. I think they have archives of past shows, and podcasts too.
"On The Media' originates at WNYC too. Excellent show, though not as great as it used to be. (also a very liberal bias) It's broadcast on the weekends. |
