| I read in a book today bathing once in awhile in a tub of warm water + adding a bottle of red wine makes the skin softer....any truth to this? |

Being a true oenophile (wine lover)...this really grabbed my attention.
Personally I'd rather get into a nice bath, and DRINK the bottle of wine!!!
All jokes aside, there are a lot of products around that contain wine "must". The "must" is the waste, being the skins, stems and seeds left over after the juice is extracted from the grapes.
The idea is that the high content of anti-oxidants in the "must" is very beneficial for the skin. I can't comment on the efficacy of this, or dumping a bottle of wine in the tub!!!
I would love for you to give it a try, and report back...I think it could be good, and I am willing to follow your lead!

What would this be called, an osmotic buzz? Contact high? I'll bet it's techically possible if the wine is full strength. Watch out for the migraine...
Maybe an end-of-the-day toner, or lotion additive? |

Hi daniel7654 - I think there may be SOME truth to what you've heard, only because Caudalie is a skincare line that bases it's claims on the effectiveness of vinopulp and other grape ingredients, extracts from which they use in a lot of their products.
Caudalie's Crushed Cabernet Scrub has gotten some good reviews on the forum, and EDS sells the line which also includes Merlot and Sauvignon scrubs. I like their Radiance Serum. |

Yes, but no one said it had to be a good wine! Heck, I'd try it with one of the $4 grocery store red wines. Couldn't hurt!  |

I can think of a lot of other things to bathe in whilst drinking a lovely bottle of red. ooh la la. |

I'm with you. I can't wait to be med-free and able to have a glass of red wine...I just can't wait - I love to sit down with a nice red (sigh)and Mr. Puds, of course |

Hmm...might this be a good use for those half-bottles of red wine that despite the little pump-and-rubber-cork kit have turned sour and bitter by the next day?
Will try this and report back on post-Pinor Noir pulchritude and also on the bathtub ring! |

I agree that the active that's purported to have the beneficial effects is probably the Resveratrol. I think you'd be way better off just buying some of that and adding it to a bath oil. The other possible is one of the grape extracts.... Grape seed extract or grape skin extract would both work as well, in fact probably better ! |

I have used a couple of samples of moisturizers that I liked but never bought the actual products. |
