I sometimes feel like everyone else lives more exotic and interesting lives than me.
So do tell, what is your typical day like? Is it busy from waking to bedtime. Do you have time to read your favorite book? Is it off to the office in a blazer and heals or is it pajama bottoms and sitting at the computer laughing with online friends? Is the word Gym in your vocabulary? So on and so on? come on give me a brief play by play! Very Happy

I will post my very typical day after a few responses. Rolling Eyes

I'm at work by 7:15 AM and have kids with me until around 3:30 (I'm a teacher.)

I coach Girls on the Run two days a week until 5:00 PM, usually have a doctor's appointment and a faculty type meeting once a week. I work until 7:00 PM excepting the doctor's appointment night.

Then I come home, check in with my two remaining sons, take the dog for a walk, and get on the treadmill. I check my forums during that time as well. Smile

I try to get in bed by 9:00 ... if I have time previous to that I love taking a relaxing bath. Sometime shortly after I get in bed I chat with a friend on the phone.

Weekends are for catching up on household chores. I spend about 4 hours on Saturday mornings at work, tango lessons in the afternoon.

Today, Sunday, is my BUM AROUND day! Loooooooove it!

Well my schedule is about to change, it used to be:

Out of bed at 6:30a, bum around on computer and get ready for class...gotta be on campus by 9a because of hubby (he's an astronomer in a PhD program).

Arabic class 11a-1p Mon. and Wed. Another Arabic class 2-3:15 Tuesday, Thursday and work in an archaelogical lab on Fridays. Gym would happen twice a week whenever I could fit it in with roller derby practice on Sundays and Thursdays. Thesis work whenever I have free time.

It's all shifting now that I'm done with class.

As of May 14th:

Work in field lab on project at historical mining site 6 hours from home, thus I will be living in a hotel M-Th and home Fri-Sun for the next several weeks to a few months. I'll have to get the gym in on those days I'm in town. And I'm on medical leave from derby right now, so I'm not skating. Sad

I'll be defending my MA thesis in July.

Other than that...pretty uneventful.

Alarm goes off at 5 am. Depending on what's on my schedule for the day, I leave the house somewhere between 6 and 7:30.

Swing by coworker's house, then we start our one-hr commute.

Meetings all day, do a few reports/design review/code review. I put in 8-12 hrs a day, depending what's going on.

one-hr commute home, exercise if it's early enough, cook dinner most days, spend time with Mom and DH, take a walk with them.

Internet time, get in bed, fall asleep to TV by 11 pm.

I have to laugh at guapagirl because that used to be my life!! So glad the student days are over.

Well - my schedule is about to change DRAMATICALLY as the Life of Riley is coming to an end...

Currently -

Up at 7-730am - get the lil one up & ready for school.
Take him to school at 845 (if mom is on the ball, lol).
Post office (yes, this is a daily event, lol)
Check emails, new orders, PMs', IM's til about 10ish..(though I pop on & off all day long)
Fill orders - this may include making products, or just filling boxes...
Pick Jake up from school at 240pm.
Fix him lunch (again, this kid is ALWAYS hungry)
Clean house
6 pm Mon/Wed/Fri take Jake to Tae Kwon Do practice
7 pm make dinner
Play board or card games with Jake, argue with hubby (LOL), laundry til 930pm
Put Jake to bed by 930 - 10pm (he's a night owl)
Back to the computer to order supplies, catch up on forums, emails, etc
To bed by 2-230 am.

Effective Friday....

All the above EXCEPT from 3-11pm I will be at work 6 days per week...
and usually 4-5 court dates (with a 9 am start) within the month...
And finally joined a new gym which I will be doing after I drop Jake off & do the post office as they are in the same mall! Finally, something close to each other!!

Anyone wanna trade??

Wow ... I'm not even sure I have a "typical day". Laughing

I get up, at this time of year, between 6:30 am and 7 ... drink coffee whilst trying to get my brain to focus on the day ahead.

Watch Canada AM and get angry at the politicians/news/weather.

See Hubby off to work ... shower and get dressed.

Put a load of laundry in the washer.

Feed the Mom-dog ... check on the puppies.

Get on the computer ... respond to emails ... check for new orders [and if there are, print them out to be input into the database later]

Answer emails etc.

Remind myself what freelance work needs to be done and when for.

Input orders in the database, print off production sheet and shipping labels.

Make sure I have enough info sheets for orders and reprint if necessary.

Shift laundry to the dryer.

Fill orders [either making product, putting products in jars or packing into bubble envelopes.]

Run out to pick up groceries if necessary.

Have lunch ... share lunch with dogs.

Do whatever housework I can't convince myself will wait until tomorrow.

Some days I have to fit in going to the butcher store to pickup 200 lbs of meat for the dogs ... after which I have to store said 200 lbs of meat in the freezer. *whew*

Feed the dogs ... and play with the ones in the kennel.

Remove and fold clothes from the dryer ... or remake the bed if it's bedding laundry day.

Phone my mother ... every single day. She's 90 ... and she waits for my call at 4 pm ...

Hubby comes home ... we eat dinner. He naps and I catch up on whatever paperwork etc I might not have managed to get to during the day ... or order more jars/bottles or raw ingredients etc.

At this time of year, we might visit friends for an hour or so ... or we might have them over ... or we watch TV.

I read ... every single night. I couldn't go to sleep without reading. Smile

Of course, I try to fit in having coffee with a girlfriend ... or going out shopping too. Very Happy

That kind of covers it ... sort of. Laughing

Mary

During the warm months:

Wake up around 9-10:00 AM.
Open the blinds, go pee, brush teeth, put on deoderant (always in that order Laughing )
Have a big, light breakfast in bed
Play video games for a little while
Catch some morning sun before noon
Talk to my better half on the phone
Make lunch
Spend the early afternoon reading, on the deck
Flutter inside after that and do site work
Talk to the better half again
Help my mom come in from work and groceries, at 4:30
Relax ( Embarassed ) in my room either cleaning things up, writing in my journal or more playstation
Talk to my better half in the early evening and play video games/watch DVDs (same as he is, at the same time. Ahh long distance relationships!) whilst laying in bed til I get tired, around midnight and go to sleep

Unemployed and loving it Very Happy Although I can only enjoy it for another few months before college starts- really looking forward to it!

My life is pretty unexciting as well. Smile

Weekdays - wake up around 6 AM, get ready for work, eat breakfast, check emails, quickly glance over EDS and Perez Hilton sites. At work for 7:30 AM. Work. Work. Work. (with some checking the forums and personal emails during the day Shock ) Leave work by 5:15 PM and head home. Sometimes stop on the way home for errands. Get home around 5:45 PM and make dinner for myself and SO (making dinner is usually as easy as grilling something with veggies on the side). Check computer again and sometimes spend 30 minutes to a few hours browsing forums and checking/writing emails and/or reading magazines or a book. Watch tv while doing this. Tell myself I should get on the eliptical machine. To bed around 10:00 ish. Realize I never did get on the eliptical machine. Before bed, check on kitties and clean litter, etc. They have automatic feeders so I don't need to worry about that other than making sure they don't run out.

Weekends are sleeping in until about 10:00 AM, just relaxing and watching tv or a movie (mostly at home and sometimes we'll go to the theatre), household cleaning, laundry, trying to get some reading in and doing errands like getting groceries.

Then Monday it starts all over again!

Damn, ladies -
Whether we go to an office or not...we all work hard!!

Pippi_Plum, you should not be embarrassed at all. I think you probably underestimate what you do as a stay-at-home mom. I'm just not good at that. It's actually easier for me to go to work, and let DH take care of the domestic chores! Embarassed

I work at night, so my "day" is probably a reverse from others'. Smile

4:30 pm - get up and out of bed
4:45 pm - make some coffee
5:00 pm - check my email, have a look at EDS forum while having my coffee
5:30 pm - BF gets home, so we spend some time hanging out
6:30 pm - take a shower, do my skincare routine including washing my hair, put on some makeup and get ready for work
7:30 pm - go out for something to eat with my BF
9:00 pm - go to work, check on to-do things for work making sure all the staff is in on that day and watch the show rehearsal
10 pm to 5 am - work
5:15 pm - get home, wake up my BF and spend more time with him then he goes back to bed
8:00 pm - wake up BF for work, have a bath and get ready for bed

Not the most exciting day I have to say, but I'm certainly not complaining. Smile

Now what an interesting poll! Very Happy

Weekdays:

I get up at 6:15 get ready for work at 8am. I work til 2:30 pm then come home and either workout right away or (right after dinner) then do chores around the house or I have some calls/sessions (I am working on my certificate for Life Coaching)I have a teleclass once a week and usually a daily session call. I have homework almost everyday. Then I cook dinner/clean up and brush my dogs (Shihtzu's :)sometimes the cats too. Get to bed 9-10pm.

Weekends:

Get up both days for gym then errands/chores. Sunday is gym then church, then lunch then chores. If I am lucky we plan some fun! Wink

I am always doing something or on the go til I hit bed at night! All I know is I am 3 years OVER due for a vacation! Razz
