I like Jurlique both silk dust, absorting my face oil without drying out my face, and keep my makeup staying longer. However, I would like to try something new, as many other girls do. Any suggestion? Thank you very much.

My favorite was Vernacular Silk Dust but their store closed down recently..Sad For oil absorbing I would recommend Suncat's SunSet Finishing Veil.. It doesn't dry out my skin at all and it keeps me oil-free all day.

You can get it here:

http://suncatnaturalmineralmakeup.com

Btw, if you're in the states, today is the last day to get free shipping on orders $30 and up.

Very inexpensive and EXCELLENT!!!! It has pearl and silk powder. I'll never be without it!

It's $15.00 USPS Global Priority Mail for international shipping at SunCat's. For the finishing veils it's only $12 each.. She gives a good amount too! .50 oz white jar and filled up.. it'll last you quite a while.

I've tried silkenpearl's overnight treatment before, while it did work at absorbing oil, I didn't like the fact mine wasn't finely milled.. It was pretty grainy on my face so I use it only at night. For daytime I find the SunDown (has both pearl powder and silk powder) to be better because it's extremely fine (not grainy at all).

Woow, the silken pearl powder sounds interesting. But is it used before or after makeup? I mainly want one for after makeup. But I think I will order some sample to try.

Hi Lisey, I check the webpage you gave to me, but can't find the powder Vernacular Silk Dust you recommend. Do you know where I check it on internet? Thanks.

I use both actually. I use the Basic paste formula and the primer. Love both dearly Smile

I second Paris' recommendation! The paste works as a treatment and primer and then the actual primer can be used for both before and after foundation. If I need something later in the day to take away the oilies, I use the primer and it works really well.

I use a DIY batch made with a roughly equal mixture of silk powder, rice powder and tapioca starch powder. The effects are less drying that Silk Dust and works out to be MUCH cheaper too.

I actually use only a powder primer for the entire day now, I don't get any oil breakthrough if I use a drop of oil in my t-zone beforehand, so I am finally free of MMU and daily touch-ups.

I use pearl paste under makeup (right next to the skin) but my primer (the powder) I always use on top of makeup.

As I've mentioned before in every thread on loose powders, lol, my favorite brand of loose powder is T. Leclerc. Sooo finely milled, it simply sets my undereye concealer and makes any shiny spots matte, while remaining invisible and flawless. Love it. There are also plenty of colors to choose from, including ones to brighten or highlight the face.
