I know times have changed a bit, so I was wondering if any of you guys still use milk of magnesia, it no doubt leaves a great matte finished, but with the pH being so high, I was wondered if anyone stopped because of it. Smile

I used it years ago after Paula Bergeon(?) raved on it. Only used it a few times and wasn't impressed. Didn't make my face less oily so tossed it.

I used it a few times for eliminating shine from my sunscreen, but now that I use Sofina I no longer need it. It does tend to make your face white but it was great at keeping it matte!

I stopped using MOM after reading Tangal's post about PH levels and wait times. I think it also caused me to break out but can't be sure. Since then, I've been using silk dust from Everyday Minerals and changed my skincare routine - I'm actually producing less oil now.

Great question, thanks for bringing this up!

I tried it a few times and found that it wasn't that impressive. It would keep my face matte so long as I wasn't exerting myself (inside in the air-conditioning), but as soon as I'd sweat a little, it would melt off and I'd look be as shiny as ever. I could get the same effect with regular loose powder so I gave up on it. I think it was also drying my skin out and making me break out.

I thought this was medication for some stomach upset (either diarrhea or constipation). No?
