WOW, its amazing what having carbs in your system can do for your body! Sandy and I have some energy back now. Sandy is weighing in at 131lbs also...YEAH!! She made it!!! Weigh in is tomorrow at 5pm and she will be below 132lbs for the first time in decades!! She is so happy she was doing the "happy dance" running down the hall yesterday. Now she can carb up after the weigh in and actually hit the show weighing about 133 or even 134....looking far bigger than all the other middle weight girls. Score a point for Sandy on that preparation goal!!
I am as ripped as I've ever been. Adding the carbs has actually increased my muscle definition at this point. Not only am I defined by I actually have veins showing in my legs, lower abdomen, shoulders, mid-chest and arms! Wow, I weigh 192 right now which puts me near that magical 7% body fat mark that I wanted to hit. I don't have any "weigh in" for my age group, so I'm going to continue to eat carbs slowly and just watch the mirror till Saturday morning. I'll stop eating if I see some definition going away with size gain, or I'll keep grazing if I see size AND definition remaining.
We'll only "sip" on water from here on out. We do this to keep any water from getting right under the skin and blocking out definition. It's called staying "dry" just before the show. Sometimes this can get a little dangerous, especially for those competitors who eliminated all electrolytes such as sodium and potassium or those who took diuretics to eliminate ALL water. Potential heart problems can and will arise in extreme cases. Sandy and I never push it that far, its not worth it.
Our routines are down pat! We have them totally memorized and dialed in! I can't wait to see the crowd reaction to "Bettie Page/Sandy" on stage doing the sultry "Love Whip" routine!! Hot, hot, hot! She got her hair done last night, more black was added so that it is "Raven Black" now, and the Bettie Page bangs were trimmed to perfection. I'll post photos when we get them!
Tomorrow we do nothing but rest. Finally. We've been training virtually 24/7 since we got back from the Florida vacation in April. Bodybuilding is that intense and requires constant training and attention. I love the discipline and I love the results.
Too bad this will probably be the last one. So, we'll do our very best!

John... You and Sandy should be very proud of yourselves for what you have accomplished. This is no small task as it requires so much discipline. Maybe that's why you stated this is the last?! I can't wait to see how you two place in the competition as I'm sure you two will win. Please be sure to post the pics and results. Good Luck!!! |
