Oh!!!! how the temptations to try new things bring out my madness.
couldn't resist and tried AHC/BHC cleanser and all H*** broke loose. I mean i look like a red metal just out of the heat. Bumps, few breakouts, redness, huge pores, irration and dryness(which i was amazed at b/c of my oily skin type). This all happened in the week of using just a tad bit of it. I guess it's back to my old cleanser, how i missed thee....and stop my quest for a new cleanser for now ,
i won't be using anything like this ever again, well I hope I can stop myself next time.
so to fix this i am going to use this Dr. Hauschka Rejuv mask sample i got and my decleor ylang ylang oil&balm. |

oh no! that's terrible! i've been using the dr h rejuv cream to clean up by manic breakout and it's amazing! you can use it under your regular day moisturiser (i usually put the rejuv on then go have breakfast then come back and put on my day moist.) or as a weekly mask. for your situation, i'd recommend it more intensively - slap that stuff on each day and watch the redness go away *hey, how cool is that, it rhymed! okay, okay, i need some sleep i know...* |

IndianT - Ouch! I hope it's all better now! Do you have sensitive skin by any chance? Probably best to stay away from AHAs in high concentrations if so. What concentration of AHA/BHA did you use? |

It didn't mention a concentration and it's neutrogena's Pore refining cleanser. I do have sensitive skin and i have been using DDF Sensitive Skin Cleansing Gel lately along with Dr. H rejuv mask and now it's getting better now. |

Wow. I'm surprised. I use the Neutrogena Pore Refining Cleanser every day (with exfoliating gloves!) and have never had a problem with it. I'm thinking now I must have shoe leather for skin. |

I don't know what the concentration of the Neutrogena Pore Refining Cleanser is but I don't imagine it would be that high. There is a slight chance that the reaction you had was due to something else in the product. However, to be on the safe side, it's probably best for you to stay clear of AHAs/BHAs completely in that case.
