My brother and his wife are living in Thailand. I would like to send them some chocolates or sweets for the holidays. Does anyone know of any awesome local places around Bangkok that I could order from? Thanks! |

I'm not in Thailand...but Andaman Gypsy is.
Thai Dessert House which is located on Koh Kret (an island on the river) has traditional Thai sweets. Not sure how you'd arrange delivery though! Not sure if they do it.
But if they are living there, guess they can get hold of great Thai sweets. Do you mean imported chocolates and sweets? |

I was thinking of something local. With the warm temps there, I am afraid of things melting if in transit for too long. Maybe I will just do some more searching on the internet when the kids go to bed. I would love to just be able to order something online. Thanks |

If you go towww.foodbyphone.com, you'll find they deliver lots of food including chocolate from famous local eateries that are popular among the expats here. The chocolate they deliver is from a place called Duc De Praslin, which does locally made gourmet chocholate and is supposed to be good. I haven't tried anything from the chocolate shop myself as I don't eat chocolate, but I order from foodbyphone at least 3 times a week and find the service excellent! You can pay for it with a credit card online. HTH |

Andaman Gypsy, thank you so much! You are awesome! I checked out the website and I am going to order chocolates from the place you mentioned. I am also going to get them a copy of the food by phone menu book, I think that will be much appreciated in itself (they are still getting settled in). Thanks again, that was a big help! |

Be the first to know everyone! . . . The company that's definately 'in' for delivery in Bangkok is now chefsXP (dot com of course)
They not only deliver for all the great restaurants in Bangkok but they do it at restaurant prices!! I have been ordering from the 'other' company for a while but found that their prices are somewhat different than the restaurant. . . after visiting chefsXP I found that the prices for the other company has been marked-up by double in many cases. . . thanks ChefsXpress for showing me the light.
Talk about outrageous profitearing. I was so unware of this. Its almost like being hit in the head with a brick!!! |

Thanks adam8169. I already ordered the chocolates from foodbyphone (the transaction went off smoothly), but I will pass this information on to my brother. I'm sure he will appreciate it.
Thanks - K |
