what would you suggest for regular exfoliation - a physical scrub, a microdermabrasion product like Epidermx II or a chemical AHA peel product?
(I`m interested in at-home products only, no salon procedures please).

As far as I understand all these products make the same thing - remove dead dull skin cells of the outer layer of epidermis, making the skin brighter and more susceptible to actives. So what is the difference between them?

How frequently do you use them? They're all pretty harsh for the skin. I use mild scrub once a week. But I'm also using Clarisonic everyday. For regular exfoliation, some recommend low concentration AHA/BHA in everyday lotion/creams. But my skin doesn't seem to tolerate AHA/BHA.
If you plan to use chemical peels, be sure to test it first in case you're allergic. Once a month is probably enough.

MMarble, I also use a mild scrub once a week. But I wonder if it`s enough? should I add a mild chemical peel once a month?
so I`d like to know wether these products are used exclusively or can be/should be used in combination?

I think it depends on your skin type. I like enzyme peels as they are more gentle than scrubs. If you do use something with granules, I would suggest very smooth ones so they don't tear your skin and in a base that is not too stripping of the skin. I got a sample of Isomers Double Duty Cleanser which contains lactic acid and willow bark which is doing a great job of cleaning out my pores so I feel I have less need of a scrub. I also use Cellcosmet purifying gel, activating gel and toner which I really like but it is maybe a bit too drying for dry skin in the winter.

There are a lot of choices for scrubs.

So far, I've used Clarins gentle facial peeling, Elizabeth Arden Peel& Reveal, Clinique 7 days scrub, la mer the refining facial. La mer is definitely the best. It's not harsh at all and give you a really radiant and clear looking after using. It is expensive but gonna last long enough. So not too bad.

EA is fine. I don't like the other two so much.

Just bought Philosophy microdelivery peel which is highly recommended on other forum.

I was told that Dr. Brandt microdermabrasion and juice beauty green apple peel are also fabulous.

I haven't tried chemical peels yet but microdermabrasion definately works better than an average scrub, mainly because the granules are smaller and sharper. I love lancome microdermabrasion.
