Marley looks like he used to be a street fighter. Hopefully under your loving direction he will be reformed. Love the face. |

It's funny you should say that, bushy, because he does have some signs of slight tears around his ears and he did originally come to our charity because he had an abscess behind his ear. So he obviously must have done some fighting at some time.
But the really weird thing is that he genuinely seems to adore other cats. He tried to make friends with all the five cats in his previous foster home. Sadly, only one of them reciprocated! But he and his friend used to follow each other around, play together, sit in the window to watch birds together and even sleep together. And he always seems absolutely desperate to meet the neighbours' cats who come into our garden. On the couple of occasions when I've let one of them in to see Marley, he's made very friendly and positive overtures towards them.
I wonder whether his fighting might have been caused due to overenthusiasm on his part? Or maybe that's just the proud mum in me, who can't believe that my lovely big boy would do such a terrible thing as fight! |

Majorb--Check out the Mac Kitty thread. Havana8 and I both left detailed suggestions for introducing kitties to each other. Good luck--by the way I had a street fighter that turned into the sweetest, kindest gal you would ever meet. She had to fight to survive when on the streets, but that was not her true nature. She just needed love and assurance that no one/thing feline or otherwise would mistreat her. She also needed plenty of food--she would freak out if her bowl wasn't' filled to the brim at all times. Can't wait to see pics of the baby. |

Is he friendly to all cats, or just the female variety. Perhaps you have to explain to him that his philandering days are over. |

I think she and Marley are probably the same kind of cat, with the same kind of experience. He had to fend for himself too for quite some time, poor boy.
And I will check out your tips on that gorgeous boy Mac's thread too, thanks. |

Ooooh, no! He seems to love all cats - but particularly the boys. Of course, he could be gay, bless him! |

I could have written half your post, lol.
I lost both my cats within months of each other last year. It took me a few months, but finally we adopted 2 new ones. A 3 yr old girl and a 1 yr old boy (honestly, I wanted much older, but that was the oldest available). I'd never had a boy cat before, but he is wonderful. Shy at first, but now grabbing my hands for a rub, like your cat. And very talkative and HUGE, like your cat.
Good luck finding another cat. Thank goodness our two cats loooove each other. It's funny, because our previous two girls couldn't stand each other. Maybe it's the different genders that makes it easier. But there is nothing cuter than watching two cats looooove all over each other. Particularly when one's as gorgeous as your new boy! |

Good for you, for adopting a stray! I volunteer with a feral cat spay/neuter nonprofit and some of the cats are living on the street, i.e. homeless, but not feral...just dumped, if you can believe that. They are so wanting some love & affection! It's very rewarding to do that and I'd take in more, if my little miss princess would accept any other felines in the house (she won't). I know your boy is aware of how lucky he is to have you! |

I even got my nose kissed today.
Fingers crossed that we may be getting a little girlie in about 4 weeks' time. We have to wait until she's ready to leave her mum. Apparently, she's trying to walk at the moment and loves her belly being rubbed.
Poor Marley doesn't know what's in store for him! |
