Can someone recommend some sunscreens for me? I spent a LOT of time reading all the past posts about s/s and I have extremely picky skin. I read a lot of great things about Sofina, but I'm afraid the alcohol content will really dry me up. I can't even use toners on my skin because it tightens too much (the kind with or without alcohol).
I did use the Shiseido stuff before but the white watery stuff really stung my eyes and got into my eyebrows making them look like my grandmothers! Plus it just felt like an icky film layered on my skin and after a while, it got even stickier.
I'm currently using Obagi's Healthy Skin Protection spf 35, but I don't think it's the greatest because it only has 9% zinc oxide which means low PPD.
Can anyone give a recommendation? Or perhaps comment on Sofina products and if they are really not suitable on people with dry skin? I think the reason I'm having dry skin too is because I just started using the Obagi nu-derm line.
Any comments will help! Thanks! |

I have sensitive skin and have been satisfied with Dr. Hauschka's sunscreen. I've never had problems with it drying out my skin. The only drawback might be that it does appear a bit white on the skin. (I've never tried Shiseido so I'm not sure how it compares, but I'm sure other posters could comment on that.) |

I tried the Shiseido sunscreen from a department store (The Bay). When I put it on my hand I can feel this uncomfortable film on it. But I know there are a lot of other Shiseido sunscreens from Asia that are unlike the stuff we get in Canadian department stores. There is a B&M selling something called Shiseido The Sun Screen spf 50 for $16 at 25ml, so I guess I can give that a try. |

I'm in love with Shiseido Anessa s/s (of course, from Asia). Give a try! |

I really like Remerment SPF30. It's a physical sunscreen and doesn't seem to react badly with my skin (whereas I had bought the La Roche Posay SPF45 Lait and my fact felt itchy). It doesn't seem drying and yet also doesn't make my face feel too oily (I have combo skin). I've been happy with it so far (although I am curious to try the Kate Somerville SPF30 ... I'm always searching for something new and better! ). |

2 thumbs up : Remergent SPF 30. Has ZnOx and TiOx. Not white or greasy. A nice line altogether. |

Shiseido is pretty good. I wear it all day and don't feel greasy at all. Actually it keeps my face matte. |

I like Japanese Brand sunscreen. sheshido Anessa is good, and Sofina has some really good sunscreen. |

I just ordered the DDF enhanced sun protection from EDS. I'll let u know if it works out because I have sensitive skin, when it comes to sunscreens, and it limits me to only using physical sunblocks.
The shiseido sunscreen for $16 is incredibly reasonable. What/where is B&M? I want to try shiseido and Anessa but I have trouble finding this in Canada, especially Anessa. |

The new Dermalogica Super Sensitive Faceblock is very good. SPF 30. Nice texture with being oily. Heliocare Gel SPF50 is also not bad if you want a higher SPF. |

I like La Roche. Contains Parsol 1789 and comes in SPF 30, 50, 60. Also like DDF when the weather is really hot because it comes in Matte formula but SPF is only 30. |

Brick & Mortar retail store. Without giving too much away I live in Canada in a city that has a large population of asian people. So, we have this huge plaza run by Chinese people and some retailers lease store space to sell Japanese products. It's $16, but only for 25 ml though, but I like it cuz I can put it in my purse.
Thanks for all the input btw, I'll definitely get through the list the way I put on sunscreen! Plus, the really nice stuff only come in small bottles anyway. |
