We went to the Nike outlet yesterday and SO introduced me to sockless sneakers! They are comfortable and super lite weight and flexible. I highly recommend to those of you who don't like socks or such! They remind me of water socks in the feel of them. Very Happy

That sounds interesting! What do they look like? Do you have a link? I love wearing runners (what we call them in Canada) but wearing socks with them in summer gets so hot. And if you wear them without socks, your feet get way too sweaty!

Ooh, yes, please tell us more. I may be interested in getting some of these myself for summer.

If you google or search Nike Free sneakers you will find some sites that sell them $$$$ I might add, and you can view pictures. I don't think they are particularly stylish but they were great at the gym today!

At the outlet they were $34.99 for women and $60 for men.

I checked out the website:

http://www.nike.com/nikefree/

It looks like there are three versions for "training" your feet. Like the first version is for beginning Foot Strength Training. They're really interesting and they look pretty nice! I wasn't sure what they would look like ... I think I pictured them less "runner" like and way more casual.

Sassyred, you'll have to let us know what you think as you use them. Which of the pairs do you have? Or maybe they have other versions too that aren't on that website. I'd really love to check these out myself.

What is it about them that you don't need socks? I went to the web site but it only showed a pic of the shoes. There was no description or anything...

From the UK site, it sounds as though they're supposed to work rather like MBTs.

My DD bought these and wears them for running, she loves them!
They are so lightweight you don't think you are holding a runner in your hand.

Moonstarr - I hope this page link works. The closest match I can find is the mens. Mine looks like it but fushia color instead of lime green which this is the sneak SO got.

I MAY have a problem though! My little toe that I broke 12 yrs back hasn't hurt for like 6-7 yrs is now swollen??? SO said *maybe* it is the sneaks!!! I was like noooooo...if so then I can't wear them Sad and will have to put them up on Ebay Sad I plan not to wear til my swelling is down, then wear again and see what happens. I love the feel of the sneak so I hope it isn't them! At the outlets they had no real choice of colors.

**Edit - link didnt' work they are the men's 5.0 v2

That sucks! I hope it's not the shoes ... they sound and look really cool. Maybe the runners don't have enough support? I really like to give these a try ... NOT that I really need another pair of runners, but I love that you don't need socks in them! I wonder how they'd be for using on the eliptical trainer?

Do they keep your feet cooler than regular runners?

I am not a runner I just got then cause I thought they were so comfortable/cool. I used on Eliptical and treadwalker and I can't tell any real difference with them vs sneakers.

I really think it is them causing the issue with little toe. Sad I think I may have *re-injured* my toe. So it will take months to heal again.
