I've been using the JM cleanser, bioclear cream, bp 5% and skin ceuticals spf for around 5 days now. I think I was a bit too overenthusiastic and as everything was ok at first I used the bioclear cream twice a day. For the last two days my skin feels very dry, looks pink and a bit flaky (just really dry looking) and I have a large pink patch at the front of my neck. I haven't used the bioclear of the bp since this happened. Should I leave it longer, not use it at all or reintroduce the bioclear once daily and just work through it. I know irritation can occur, is that what I'm experiencing? My aim is to clear my skin with jm and then move onto something more natural like decleor. Can anyone offer any advice? TIA. |

I'm not that familiar with Jan Marini products (I had tried the Bioglycolic Bioclear Lotion but felt it was too drying on my skin and am currently using the Lightening Gel ... too soon to judge that one), however, it sounds like too much too soon perhaps. I over did when I started back with IS Clinical products and made my skin super sensitive for a few days. If I put any sort of active on it, it would turn red.
I would cut back to the basics for a few days to give you skin a chance to calm and then gradually add the products back in, but I would cut back to maybe every 2 days with the Bioclear Cream and maybe don't layer it with the BP (do you have another gentle moisturizer you could use in the meanwhile?). I think maybe it was just too much at once for your skin and you'll need to ease into it more slowly. And as you go, if you eventually bump it back up to once a day/or twice a day, judge how your skin reacts because maybe that is just too much for your skin.
Maybe others with more Jan Marini experience can pitch in their experience as well.
Good luck! |

im using JM's bioclear cream and the first day or so of using it, my cheeks had a few dry patches and right now iv got a few pimples around my face (most likely that im going thru the purging stage of using my new creams or maybe its hormonal )
as i didnt want to quit using the bioclear cream, i decided to cut back to using it to once a day and i dont have any flakies anymore.
it doesnt sound like ur allergic to it, so i think that u should use it once a day too..or if ur skin cant even tolerate that, use it every other day. if that doesnt help then maybe u shouldnt use BP
im too wanting to clear my skin then slowly use more gentle and natural skincare products, as all this chemical on my skin surely does some harm.
HTH and good luck! |

Once a day to start and then increase to A.M. and P.M. When starting the Bioclear use it once in the P.M.
Hope this helps. And yes, if you are prone to acne any new skin care routine can cause a breakout. It'll get better, I promise. And you'll soon have that Bioclear glow. |

Rachael, I think you're just overusing it. Reduce use in half. |

Thanks for all your suggestions. I really don't think it's an allergic reaction, just too much too soon. Will cut back and slowly reintroduce products again. I've never had dry skin before, ooh how the other half live! |
