I used to have a few tubes of mascara in the same period of time. But I found that it will have a bad smell after a few months. So I have to flow it away before I used it up.
Do you gals have the same problem? |

Yep...when my mascara starts smelling funny I pitch it. Sometimes it happens in a couple months, sometimes longer.
You can help keep your mascara longer by not pumping the brush in the tube up and down a lot. I always try to get two coats on both eyes in one pump, two at most. I've found I don't get the funny smell nearly as quickly when I pay attention to how much air I introduce into the tube. |

Yep...bad smell equals bad product. I've found that with eye shadow too. Rather than pumping the mascara...I usually just twist the applicator in the tube...then only put it in the container to put more on the brush for second set of eyelashes...and to put it away. |

ParisTroika, thanks a lot!!
I used to think that mascara has the shortest life among cosmetics.
But perhaps, it might be good that we knew it turned bad because of the smell.
For other cosmetics such as eye shadow, they look the same after years! |
