I just receievd my order of Dr H cleansing cream, the direction of use emphasizes that it is not a scrub, but, it does really feel like a scrub on face, is it gentle enough for daily use? Can I use it both in am and pm?
As for the rolling and pressing action, I cant see any difference this action as opposed to the action I use with a scrub, how can I actually do the rolling and pressing act right? I am afraid that I work it in too much that it could do harm to my face!
Thanks in advance! |

okay, so i had a facial with a dr h aesthetician about a month ago so i have the knowledge! first, rinse your face, then put like a bit bigger than a pea size (maybe just over half an inch for those that are imperically inclined) into your palm and add a little water until is gets kind of squishy. then you put your hands on your face and kind of press and roll your palms off *does that make sense?* so you press then roll your hands off from like the palms upwards - i know what i mean but it is hard to describe!!!
yep, it is gentle enough to use every day, no worries there, and it is so gentle that i wouldn't be worried about doing any damage to your face.
ummm, let me know if that's not clear and i'll try and think of another way to describe it!

I do what Kiwigirl just described. I wet my hands and squeeze out about 3/4 of an inch of the cleansing cream and pat it around so it's distributed nicely. Then I just press it onto my face, lifting off from my wrist or side-to-side. I do this for a few minutes. Oh, and I now use a warm washcloth on my face before I do this. So my face is damp to start off with.
this cleanser!!! |

I'm laughing because after I posted this I looked over it and though "what was the point of writing that? I just wrote what Kiwigirl wrote!" |

can you still use an exfoliant as well after this face wash or should you alternate between the two? My facialist told me to use an exfoliant 3x a week as well as using my usual face wash every morning and night. |

Thanks a lot Mabsy and Kiwigirl, I think I got the idea!
I also got the question same as blg83, though they said it's not a scrub, I think it does the job of a scrub in terms of removing dead cells / blackheads, so, do you gals use any scrub in addition to this cleansing cream? Have you also tried Dr H cleansing milk? Thanks! |

Bbiz,
I don't need to use any scrubs while using the Cleansing Cream though I do sometimes like to use one just for old times sake I've also got the cleansing milk and really like it too
One thing I forgot to mention is that I use the cleansing cream on a clean face. This product is not supposed to remove makeup. If you are wearing makeup then you need to use a cleanser to take it off first THEN use the cleansing cream. I'm sure you all know that but just by my repetitive nature I thought I'd mention it again |

For those who have used the DH cleansing cream, do you think it leaves an oiled feeling after cleansing? Not the same feeling as with a cleansing gel? |

I found that it lasted about 5 weeks (thereabouts) when I was using it twice daily.
Miranets - if you like the squeaky clean feel of a cleansing gel then this is probably not for you. I don't think it leaves the skin oily at all but it does leave it comfortable (could get away with no moisturiser at night). This is part of the Dr Hauschka regimen though - they do say that you shouldn't use a moisturiser at night so it's not surprising that their cleansers leave your skin feeling a bit moisturised. |

I have and it helped me through a few months when my skin had really broken out. I find that after awhile I can switch back the Decleor Ylang Ylang from Decleor as the Dr. H does start to make my skin on the dry side. So, when my skin is extra oily and generally acting up I go back to the Dr. H normalizing oil. |

It does make me feel too oily but I just added an extra step where I use a foaming cleanser and I got the best of both worlds, the Dr. H really helped purge my skin and the foaming cleanser took the oil slick feeling away. I either use Dr. H + Jurlique foaming cleanser or Dr. H + Ice elements Radiance cleanser. |

Here's what I've compiled from the package inserts and Dr. Hauschka.com:
Quote: |
Dr. Hauschka Cleansing Cream
Application: Remove make-up and moisten face well with warm water. (Ideally the neck, upper part of chest and ear lobes are included.)
Squeeze 1/2 inch of Cleansing Cream onto hand, mix with warm water and spread between wet hands to create a creamy emulsion.
Begin to work the Cleansing Cream into the face with a rolling pressing movement of palms and fingers. Work from the centre to the outside to stimulate the lymphatic flow. Keep the emulsion wet. DO NOT RUB and SCRUB.
Avoid the eye area. DO NOT RUB OR SCRUB.
Rinse thoroughly with warm water, and follow with a splash of cool water (Use tepid water throughout for sensitive skin.)
The length of time that Cleansing Cream is worked into the skin varies with each skin condition:
Normal or dry: 1 to 2 minutes
Sensitive: 30 to 60 seconds
Oily or impure: 3 to 5 minutes.
Complete the cleansing process by applying Dr. Hauschka Facial Toner, Clarifying Toner, Rhythmic Night Conditioner or Rhythmic Conditioner, Sensitive.
And from Dr. Hauscha.com:
Cleansing Cream: What do you mean by “press and roll”?
Our unique "press and roll" cleansing method goes beyond the surface to stimulate the lymph and awaken your skin. First, dampen your face with warm water and mix 1/2" Cleansing Cream with a few drops of water in your hand. Relax your hands to gently cup the face. Beginning at the forehead, press the product in using your fingers and the tops of your palms, rolling outward from the center and lifting as you roll. The mild suction created helps remove dead cells, dirt and oil. Work downward and outward with this press and roll motion for one to three minutes, then rinse with warm water and finish with a cool splash. |

I looove the CC! It doesn't leave my skin oily at all just well-moisturised, so I don't put anything on at night. Following Dr H's recommendation I've stopped using scrubs and haven't felt the need to use one since.
I've tried the cleansing milk but after a few weeks I realised it clogged up my pores so I stopped using it.
The normalising day oil definitely does reduce oil production. |

I usually wash my face first with the cleansing milk to remove dirt and make-up. Then I use the cleansing cream. I roll and press for 30-60 seconds and then I leave the cream on my face for 1-2 mins and then rinse it off. Does anybody else leave the CC on the face afterwards? |
