To add to this, retin-a is supposed to help spider veins. Or so I have read. It thickens the dermis, so spider veins and broken capillaries should be less apparent.

Interesting! I know I have read that, but for me it did the opposite. It made mine thinner and develop the spider veins so my derm had me quit using it. Maybe it is different for extreme fair and sensitive skin. I wish I could use Retin-A on my skin, it might help with the crepiness!

Hi Annie,
What percentage are you using now? And is it a cream or gel or microgel? You might try to buffer with a moisturizer also? It is such a great anti-ager, it really breaks my heart when people cannot use it.

I tried several versions/percentages while starting with the lowest and then just gave it up. Yes, I tried buffering with lotions, moisturizers etc., just never could push past the initial stage. It has been quite a few years now and just didn't go back after my rosacea started happening.
The derm thinks that is what triggered it!

Aw, that is terrible. Does your derm think you can use retinol or differin? i use both retin-a and differin, since I learned they work on different receptors and need all the anti-aging help I can get. I turn 40 very soon!
