Hello ladies,
I'm running out soon of my Hydramax by Chanel and I need a moisturizer. I don't want to buy Hydramax again because when my skin gets dry sometimes, it stings & it does not hydrate my skin long enough .
I have a combo asian skin: slightly oily T-zone, dry cheeks with PIH. Now and then I also get red spots/blemishes on my face. I want a moisturizer which hydrates superbly not greasy or oily.
Calling for all the skin experts, which moisturizer would you recommend me
Thank you,
Medusa |

The quest for a balancing moisturizer is not uncommon, and once a woman finds one, she is (indeed) a happy camper!
Based on what you have described, I will suggest the following products: Dermalogica Active Moist & Hydrating Booster, Decleor Aromaessence Neroli Oil and Hydra Floral Emulsion, Yonka Creme 93, Phytomer Base Hydratant, or MD Formulations Antioxidant Serum. |

I have very dehydrated combo skin and it's been difficult to find a cream that moisturises without beeing greasy. To add to the problem I can't use anything with mineral oils or parafin, these will only cause pimples and blackheads...
Lately I have used two moisturisers I love. One is the Babor combination 24h. This seals in the moisture, not greasy at all. The second is Eucerin Hydra-Protect (spf15), maybe even better than Babor combination 24h. None of these contain mineral oil or parafin. Both work great under make-up. |

Another option would be to use a serum with hyaluronic acid first and then a ligther moisturiser over the top. SkinCeuticals and Cellex-C both make vit B5 serums with hyaluronic acid and Dermalogica makes a moisture booster as well.
Medusa - this has been bugging me all day and I just have to ask... What does "PIH" stand for? |

awwwwwwwwwww I was trying to show off a bit with the knowlegde I gained here .
PIH stands for post inflammatory hyperpigmentation. You get these beauties when your pimple is gone and after a while u get these dark spots on ur skin called PIH. For those with pale skin tones, this aftermath color change is usually pink, red or purple in color. Patients with darker skin tones may notice brown or black spots where their acne once was.
PIH can fade unassisted. Unfortunately, the darker the PIH, the longer it may take to resolve. It may also require some intervention in order to hasten the process. While PIH is not a true scar, when it lasts past a year, it certainly seems like a permanent problem.
Thank you ladies for your advice. I was also thinking of a B5-hyaluronic acid serum myself like Mabsy advised.
Alot of products which are advised here I'm not familiar with or can get sample where I live and therefor I'm hesitating to try any I recently bought a moisturizer but it turned out bad .

I have used the Phytomer and would not recommend it. It made my face very red - it took a while for me to figure out it was the cream. But I would like to recommend Dermalogica Barrier Repair. It is silicone based, very hydrating, but does not contain oil. Also, my absolute favorite, La Mer Cream. |

A product line that hydrates skin superbly is definitely Elizabeth Grant serums. 24 hr hydration. Good for all skin types. Fabulous. Do a search. You'll find it. |

I'm not sure what's good for PIH, but in terms of regular moisturization I recommend Mario Badescu Hyaluronic SPF15, and Mario Badescu Healing Cream for redness or spots. |

I am not a moisturizer expert but received samples of Pevonia sensitive Skin Cream and Jurlique Purest Day Care Face Lotion. I've tried Pevonia's and i like it. Can't wait to try the other one since I like batonical products.
Hope this helps |

I obviously missed the post where this was abbreviated... Don't I feel silly, I was trying to come up with all sorts of things it could be when in fact I should have just done a search
I don't really have much of a problem with this type of "scarring" staying around for too long but I could almost swear that when I use the Microfoliant it gets rid of it quicker. Get a sample and try it perhaps? I also use vitamin C though which could be making it fade faster as well. |

I've also been on the look out for a good moisturizer. Haven't jumped the gun yet but have been testing samples. I have similar skin type ( asian, dryer cheeks, oilier t zone). I ve tried the following lately: active moist of dermalogica, hydrating moisturizer of T le clerc and shiseido essential night moisturizer. The T le clerc was quite nice and absorbed well. Shiseido was also quite nice and smelled great. But the active moist felt best.I'm just finishing my samples ( I still have the shu uemura to finish off) but intend to get the active moist soon. |

As my daily moisturizer, i use Aveeno Positively Radiant Daily Moisturizer with SPF 15, and mositure-rich soy extracts. It also has this what they call light diffusers that when you apply it, your skin do seem to glow. It has a matte finish and glides smoothly on your face. I break out easily with moisturizers but not with this one. It's really perfect, i think, you guys ought to give it a try! It gives your skin a sparkly, shimmery glow that hides skin blemishes lke wow! Plus, it protects the skin from UVA and UVB rays! |
