Hi
sorry i am beginning to sound like a broken record but i can not find some to the replies i have received so here i go again.
i am 36 years old and look a lot older than what i am. i have lines around my eyes, between my eyebrows and some around my mouth (i know, i smoke and shouldnt) i have tried various creams - all which have done nothing but cost a fortune. my skin feels quite dehydrated, especially around the eye area. im not wanting any cream that just sit on my skin and when washed off my skin will go back to normal ( the Skin Doctors Eye lift was like this - it was terrible). i am looking for a hydrating moisturizer, possibly skin firming cream, vitamin creams (A or C - which to use??? both or one???)and hopefully try the relax a line treatment. please could someone help as to what to buy and what order to apply these creams. i really am in dire straits ;-(
i am trying to improve the texture, elasticity, skin and hopefully reduce the wrinkles.
hope to hear from someone soon and cheers once again

Sally,
Most important is a good diet then you can choose topical treatments. I read Roxy Dillon's Radical Rejuvenation when I was 38 and it inspired me to change my eating habits. She advocated a raw food diet but there is so much information to get you started on how eating affects your aging & beauty issues. But take your pick of a healthy diet that works for you...more alkaline, proper food combining, macrobiotic,75% raw..etc. whichever one seems manageable.
This is not what people want to hear but it makes a great difference. It did for me..at 38 and 39 people I just met were for the first time in my life paying so many compliments to my appearance. It was wonderful to have this experience that I wanted all my life & to receive it when I was almost 40.
In terms of topical treatments, I use skinbiology copper peptides for what they call "skin remodeling". These help with firmness & fine lines..These take time but are inexpensive.
I love TNS Recovery Complex. This is expensive but since you eventually cut back from 2x a day to 1x then after another 3 months to 2 or 3x a week, it ends up only be pricey for the initial period of use. This takes at least 3 months to se results but what I see is firmer more youthful skin. Something is helping alot with fine lines, wheteher it's the TNS or the copper peptides I can't be sure.
A good topical c product is also a good idea. I use one with alpha lipoic acid and DMAE.
What you put inside your body can have such a remarkable effect on your appearance. This is the foundation that all topical skincare should be built on. This is the last thing I wanted to hear until I took the plunge and changed all the junk I was ingesting and saw the results. |

Sally, I also forgot to mention when I did the radical diet change I quit smoking at the same time too. I rolled up lobelia leaves in cigarette papers to help me quit. The lobelia has a substance akin to nicotine but is not addictive. It helps ease withdrawal symptons without keeping the * spam alert * going. It also helps because you can actually smoke something. I very quickly without thinking lost my desire to smoke anything. hth |

Hello, In addition to skin care products, I've found getting a different pillow helps alot, I'm a side sleeper and that puts so much pressure on one's face (tried to train myself to sleep on my back, but just couldn't). I wake up looking much better since I got a contour pillow. Some links below which have good info. Hope this helps some!
www.facesaverpillow.com
www.savemyface.com
www.amazon.com (pillow section is under Home & Garden - look for contour pillow - this is the least expensive one) |

Hi
Thanks for all your help. my diet usually consist of Cereal and fruit for breakfast, sometimes a bacon roll mid morning at work, fish/meat salad for lunch with 4 Ryvittas, tea can be either a roast dinner, scampi and oven chips, spaggetti bolognaise etc. I also have some fruit in the day, a packet of low fat crisps and a yoghurt. I don’t think eating a little bit of what I fancy will do me any harm. Plus I am trying to put a little weight on as I have lost a lost through a worrying time. With regards to smoking – I wish I would stop. I think im toooooooo stressful too though. What are the leaves (lobelia leaves) you are talking about queenpedauque and where can I get these from. It sounds like a splendid idea to help me to quit this horrible habit.
On topical creams where can I look at the ones you mention and which ones am I best to go for.
Thanks all for your advice. Have a good day.
Sally (from not so sunny England at the mo) |

Sally, Lobelia aka indian tobacco is a flowering plant and herb native to North America. I'm not sure how readily available it is in the UK. It is a herb used alot in natural healing. I buy mine at a store that carries bulk herbs. It is very inexpensive. As a tincture in large doses, it acts as an emetic (induces vomiting) but as a smoking mixture, I found I could smoke as much as I liked without any problems. So you shouldn't worry too much about that property.
EDS carries the TNS and skinbiology.com & dianayvonne.com carry the copper peptides. |
