Hey all,
I have been using the Obagi line since January and it along with Vivier Vitamin C has made a dramatic improvement in my skin .
The doctor I was seeing has moved and I can't find another in my area who sells this line, I even did a search for one on their website. Purchasing their product hasn't been a problem and is how I found this forum which I am now completely addicted to lol.
My question is I guess you are supposed to go on maintenance after a certain amount of time and I have no idea what that consists of. Can anyone help me or at least point me in the right direction?
Thanks

You haven't specified whether you have been using the Obagi line for pigmentation or acne. I am presuming that this was due to pigmentation, therefore, I submit the following recommendations.
Hydraquinone should not be used for more than three months, as this will thin the skin, and cause irritation. I suggest that you continue using your Vivier vitamin-C serum, follow it with Skinceuticals Hydra B-5 Gel,Skinceuticals Phyto + (excellent product!! ) your moisturizer (dependant on your skintype), and your sunblock. Use your c-serum only once per day, and it is best to use this during the day, to benefit from it's antioxidant protection. You may use the Hydra B-5 and Phyto + in the evening as well, prior to moisturizing. Phyto + contains plant-based ingredients such as Kojic Acid, which will help prevent and break-down melanin deposits ... without thinning the skin. |

Thanks to both of you for your response. I finally found a doctor in a different province who was thankfully happy to answer all my questions. I have been using obagi for acne as well as sun damage to my skin.
I am bit confused now as he told me to continue using the obagi indefinitely just not daily like I had been.
Thanks again

Sherri, my nurse told me this for maintenance:
Alternate the Exfoderm and Clear during the day, meaning 1 day exfoderm, next clear, etc. For the Blender/RA, she said to use that 3-4 times a week, though some may need to use up to 5 times a week depending on their hyperpigmentation and how you are responding on maintenance. HTH. |
