I am truly delighted with this fragrance. I've been wanting to try it for ages, but as there isn't any store that carries this line in my area, I hesitated to buy a bottle. I was in NYC two weeks ago and was in Saks, (the one on 5th Ave.) and there it was sitting on a testing tray. I immediately spritzed it, then proceeded to dodge the other fragrance SAs because I did not want to spoil what I had just experienced. This is sultry, spicy, yet not overpowering. This fragrance is not flat, it is very multi-dimensional and the many notes that make up this lovely scent sparkle individually, yet compliment each other beautifully. The top notes are peach blossom and bergamot, middle notes are gardenia, tuberose, peony and orange flower with bottom notes of patchouli, cedarwood, vanilla, sandalwood, cardamom, and guaiac wood. For me, the spicy notes really come out while the peach blossom lingers ever so slightly. When I catch this scent throughout the day I cannot help but smile, it's truly enrapturing for me. Absolutely wonderful! The bottle is gorgeous (made in Italy), and makes me wish I had something other than my lowly bathroom counter on which to display it. I also would be delighted if Bond No. 9 would formulate some body lotions to complement their fragrances, as I'm a huge fan of layering my scents. As scent stays longer on moisturized skin, I'll be using an unscented lotion prior to application in order to experience this gem of a perfume as long as possible!
I ordered mine from Beauty and Scents (www.beautyandscents.com) instead of directly from Bond No. 9 (they charge 16 dollars in shipping, though I might order from them next time just to see if they send any samples or extras with an order). I did not purchase it at Saks because of the airline restrictions on liquids and my poor quart baggie was full already from a trip to Sephora in Union Square. I received free shipping from Beauty and Scents as well as two free samples of Nuits de Noho and Coney Island (both Bond No. 9, Coney Island is the newest Bond No. 9 fragrance, released this year along with Bryant Park). The samples I received are actually from the Bon Bon box, and purchased separately they would be 40 dollars each (The Bon Bon box can be customized or ordered as is, you receive 18 pocket sprays fro $240)! Also, in my Chinatown box, Bond No. 9 had placed a post card to be filled out and returned which would sign me up for free samples of upcoming and newly released fragrances. Such a wonderful incentive for customers!
This experience with Bond No. 9 has been amazing and has left me wanting to try more, particularly Eau de New York, So New York, Fashion Ave., Park Ave. and Central Park. I'd love to find DH a scent (I adore Ormonde Jayne Isfarkand for him, but too pricey to order from the UK with shipping) such as Bleecker Street or Wall Street. I had no idea Bond No. 9 had a boutique on Bleecker St., and I spent most of my time in that area as my brother works in Greenwich Village. You can be sure I'm planning to set aside an hour or two the next time I go back to visit him entirely to the Bond No. 9 boutique!

I rate this a of 5. Expensive yes, but I've never experienced anything like it, and as I've stated before, scent is too important to me not to explore more pricey formulations. I should also add I purchased the 1.7 oz (for $125) while the 3.4 oz is $178.

www.bondno9.com to see the available fragrances (so many to choose from!) and www.beautyandscents.com (where I ordered mine from, great service, fast shipping! I also bought my Ojon from here back when it was hard to find, several years ago).

Thanks for the review! This sounds wonderful; all their fragrances do. I'd have to be really ballsy one day to buy it though! Definitely an indulgence, but it sounds well worth it. I think smelling good is one of the best things you can do for yourself.

I really like Chinatown too. Florals aren't good on me, but the spiciness warms things up and it smells absolutely heavenly.

This is still on my list of "perfumes to acquire" but I told myself that I am not buying anything new until I get at least 1/3 through my People of the Labyrinths. I have a huge weakness for perfumes (more so than skincare even) and Chinatown is one of those fabulous ones that I just "need" to have one day. And talk about a gorgeous bottle!
