I know that this may sound like a silly question, but how do you make sure that a skin care product is completely rinsed off of your face? I often worry that I might be leaving a bit of residue but I also don't want to over scrub because that can also be bad for your skin. I'd appreciate any advice or tips! Thanks.

Use a toner with a cotton square. It'll remove any residue left on your face from cleansing.

Wouldn't the toner then be left on the face? I rinse after the toner with water and it feels like I'm rinsing off something, slick and lotion-y.

Um, well, yeah, the toner would be left on your face. This is a problem because..? Toner is not meantn to be rinsed off.

We leave moisturizers, sunscreens, and makeup on our face don't we?

Do you feel that when you getting a facial at spa, the beautician doesn't really remove products that thoroughly, comparing to what you would have done at home?

Sometimes. But I also wonder if I'm overdoing it at home. I seem to be paranoid about not getting all the sunscreen off my face after washing. Confused

I have a fluffy microfiber cloth that I will use to remove cleanser (if it is a cream-base or if I have been wearing make-up or heavy sunscreen) and also for masks.

I will often wash my face twice if I have had on foundation/sunscreen or if using a heavy cream cleanser, will follow with a gel cleanser, rather than use the old cotton pad & toner method.

I too like to use a cloth with my cleanser when washing the day off, I follow with a toner to condition my skin and also to check that there is no residue remaining.
However whatever you put onto your face does get absorbed during the day so I also think it is bast to use as natural prosucts as possible.

Sometimes I wonder if it's bad to have sunscreen on my face all day, even when I am just working indoors. The non-active ingredient list is not that 'natural'. Confused

I always use the toner on cotton pads to see if my face is clean enough after washing. Left over makeup is more obvious but sunscreen residue on the cotton pad is too hard to see because mine doesn't have any color to it. Confused
