Has anyone used acpunture for nerve pain in their face? Since having Ipl treatment on my face for flushing which is mild which i now do regret i seem to be left with tingling nerve sensations in my face by my nose and cheeks. I have tried meds from the doctor for it but seemed to cause side effects and just wondering if anyone has had acpunture for any sort of pain in their face and if it has helped or any other suggestions for face pain for what i could try?Its really starting to get me down.
Thank you |

Sarah I have never had acupuncture but I am sorry to hear that you had such a terrible experience. How long ago did you have the IPL treatment and where was it done?
Is is possible that in time the tingling nerve sensation will disappear? Please keep us updated on your progress. |

I had ipl over a year ago. I really hope that will be the case but i cant see it so im trying find some things that may help it at the moment. Seems that it has just made the nerves and blood vessels in my skin more senstive. Just goes to show you never know how a treatment will work. |

My dad is an avid promoter of acupuncture! I've never had it done myself, but he says its helped more with his back pain than several of the chiropractors he's visited. |

Sarah, accupuncture definately works! I have had it on and off for about 8 years, go to someone that is reputable. Good luck! |

Sarah,
If you continue to suffer, I would give fish oil supplements a try. They have an anti-inflammatory effect on the skin, and the omega-3's in them may help with the healing of the nerve tissue that may have been affected by the IPL to your face (this second part is a wild guess, but fish oil *has* been documented to have a positive effect on mental health, with speculation that this is in part due to helping rebuild or maintain the myelin sheath.)
I use Fisol because it is enteric-coated, meaning better absorption and no burping up fish-oil-taste. I also use Zyflamend, a supplement containing things like turmeric and ginger, for its anti-inflammatory effects.
I hope you feel better soon. |
