Due to recent stress the last 2 months, I've suddenly lost 10-15 pounds. Although I'm smaller in size, i'm much mushier in the arm and tummy area.
I tried the elliptical and treadmill, but I just can't get myself into 'gym' workouts. Any suggestions?
I like the idea of yoga, but how much would it help with overall tone? |

Cardio burns calories. Weight lifting will tone. I like The Firm videos a lot. I have a gym membership but I find these videos to be the most effective. You can find more on www collagevideo com |

Yoga helps with the toning. I began exactly a year ago with a very small (about 10 minutes) routine that has expanded into a half hour. I lost inches off my waist and back area and my lower tummy...what's funny is, I weighed myself today and I'm 118 pounds Last summer when I started, I was 135...of course, I began yoga around the time I started to eat properly and healthy Yoga really tightened my middle and made me quite lean from the ribs down. If you're interested in going this route, i could be more specific, but I wanted to say it definately worked for me and it was never my intention to slim down and lose weight. I gained a lot of muscle. |

I love yoga and it definitely helps with toning. I wish I had more time for it because I loved my body when I used to go 5 times a week for 90 minutes. As others have suggested, weight lifting also helps. There are a lot of women's fitness sites that offer free programs for you to follow if you are looking for guidance. Good luck! |
