I am going away tomorrow (July 11, 13:00 GMT) to Cyprus for a week with friends and my Mum gave me a 200ml bottle of Riemann P20 Once-A-Day Sunfilter to use.
I've been browsing reviewcentre.com to see what other people's experiences are and it seems people either LOVE it or HATE it. People say they love it because one application lasts 10 hours, it also lets you tan without burning, it's very water resistent, fragrance-free and non-greasy. Others hate it because it can provoke strong allergic reactions, it stains, it doesn't protect enough UVA rays etc. The new improved formula I was given says it does not stain and protects against UVA + UVB (95% of the sun's burning rays).
I'm quite happy to try this out as I'm quite olive-skinned and don't burn too easily. However, I am currently using Paula's Choice products to control my acne on my face and back. I use the One Step Cleanser, 2% BHA, Extra Strength Blemish Fighting Solution and Skin Balancing Moisture Gel.
My question is: is P20 suitable for my skin? If you look at the ingredients it says there is an emollient that will "counteract the effects of the alcohol". Does this mean it will be ok to use with the products mentioned above?
My acne is clearing up nicely and I don't want to have flare ups while I'm on holiday. I'd appreciate comments from people who are familiar with the product and have used it on their face without damage.
Ingredients
Quote: |
Alcohol: Solvent for PABA the active ingredient of P20.
Aqua: Solvent, helps create the comfortable gel feel of the product.
Propylen glycol: Emollient, softens the skin and helps counteract any effect of the alcohol on the skin.
PABA: The active sunfilter in P20, vitamin complex known as vitamin H or vitamin BX.
Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose: Thickener for the P20 lotion. |
Thanks!
