I want to explore the idea of just using a washcloth to exfoliate/rinse product off at night, but I find that even your standard terrycloth fabric can be a bit harsh at times.

Is there a more gentle fabric that might be good for this?

Thanks!

Smile

Couple of suggestions:

Dermalogica Sponge Cloth

OR

Jane Iredale Magic Mitt

There are also gentle brushes available to consider:

I just ordered a Jane Iredale Magic Mitt, and I also saw some microfiber mitts for sale at Sephora over the weekend.

Know that Liz Earle has a muslim one that got great reviews though I am sick of hearing about Eve Loms that I feel I just have to try it. I am one of these who put self tanner on my face and as a result need to give my pores a good wash

I got a bamboo fiber washcloth in a Juice Beauty sample pack a while back. It was very soft and felt great on my skin. I haven't bought any bamboo washcloths yet because I have a ton of terrycloth ones that I use and they work well for me at this point.

i'm a fan of the eve lom muslin cloth - in fact, i think it's the secret to her cleanser success way more so than the actual cleanser itself. however, i've found that the muslin cloths i used to use to wipe my babies faces are virtually identical to the eve lom cloth - and a fraction of the price. i'd definitely recommend soft muslin as opposed to a washcloth.

I use baby washcloth. They usually come in a bundle of 8 for like 6 dollars. I just got some more at target.

Awesome. So I can just get a baby washcloth and that will work?

Are muslin cloths the kind of thing I can find in a local store? Or do I need to order one online?

Thanks!

Just got my Jane Iredale mitt over the weekend, and I like it. It's a nice peachy pink color, which was surprising and pleasant because our bathrooms in our new apartment have all pink appliances (sink, toilet, tub) and we finally decided to go with it instead of fighting it - we bought pink and brown striped towels and pink and brown polka dotted accessories. So this mitt fit right in! Which is, in fact, not the aspect I meant to review. Smile

It's very nice - it scrubs better than I thought it would, and it does rock at getting even very tacky mascara off. I use it with a smidgen of Burt's Bees Orange Essence Facial Cleanser, and it's quite nice and effective. And if there's a black smudge where my mascara was, just a smidgen of foaming hand soap and it came totally clean, unlike my washcloths. I think that's why I like this mitt better - it can come 100% clean with minimal effort and it dries quite quickly, so I feel safe using it and don't worry about bacteria buildup like I might with a washcloth. I think I will alternate using this and a regular washcloth, since I like being able to run the normal-size cloth under hot water to gently steam my pores. All in all I'm normally more of a natural fibers gal than a synthetics gal, but this mitt made me realize the advantages of synthetics. I highly recommend it to those who are curious about a microfiber alternative!

I also use baby wash cloths. Or I'll use a worn out regular one. I think my face feels cleaner when I do this.
